Default Need and alignment shop ASAP! One shop said they wouldnt help!

Hey all. I have a slight situation brewing here. I just finished my TA last night. All new front suspension. Lowered 1". Etc etc. My alignment is pretty far off. I already called one place, and they basically told me that since everything needed to be adjusted, they didnt watn to do it. And if they did, they would charge me more on top of the regular alignment fee... wtf?? Even if they had a reason for telling me that, Im already turned off to the place.

Anyone know of any place close to Coatesville, PA 19320??? Im afraid to drive it too far because I dont want to screw anything up. The place I tried was Tim Brown's Auto because he came recommended.

Anybody have any more suggestions???

Justin

4 wheel alignment on an F-Body
Cheapest I can get a 4 wheel around here is $80 (for the Nissan) A two wheel is around $50-$60. When my car was lowered I brought it to GM.

I (and many others) have adjustable PHB and LCAs, which would require a 4-wheel alignment.

I like Sullivan Tire, but they don't have any locations in PA.

How do you adjust the rear unless you have adjustable lower control arms, panhard rod and torque arm? And those are all something you can do yourself if you have an angle finder.

I thought in general, we only needed a front end alignment.

Correct we only need front end alignments. In theory if you make both LCA's the same length, your thrust angle should be right. Panhard just centers the rear in the chassis and the TQ arm will adjust pinion angle.

I do have adjustable PHB and rear LCAs. Also, I'd rather pay the extra $10-$20 for a 4-wheel (vs. 2-wheel) alignment than mess with it myself.

It's not in PA, but just to give you an example lol.....I took my car to get aligned at a local alignment place on rt. 130 in NJ. They came highly recommended. I took my 2000 WS6 there after my tubular k-member w/tubular upper and lower a-arms. They had the car for 2 days charged me $110 and told me never to come back with this car LOL. Apparently it was a pain in the ***

Cool thanks for the suggestions and input guys. I ended up taking it to Arty's in parksburg. Well near parksburg anyway. Ive heard good things and bad things about that place... But my main reason for choosing them was they are a performance shop. They work on lowered vehicles and build suspensions and what not. SO..I told him I wanted the camber -5* on both sides, and I told him to put everything else to spec.

He gave me a before and after sheet. Surprisingly...my driveway alignment was closer than I thought! I was toed in about 1/4" too much...but not bad for doing it by eye. haha. He nailed all the specs that I asked for and got like 1/32 toe.

Good news is the car goes down the street and handles wonderfully. Such a different. I got a bunch of steering feel back from the caster settings and the car feels a ton tighter. Handles like its on rails again!

Just thought Ide let ya'll know that I got it taken care of!!! All for $72.00 too!! Not bad compared to the other places. Thanks again!

Well, if you are still looking for a place to do an alignment, check out the local Goodyear place here in Doylestown, PA. (zip 18901). At least 3 or 4 of the guys there have ls1 f-bodies and a couple have aftermarket k-members and lca.

The place is called Kershaw and Fritz Goodyear.
