Warren - I got the 4,000 rpm stall because the cam is almost ready to go as well. If we wernt going to crack open the motor; me and Don knew that 4,000 was too much. We have the complete install package minus the cam itself and double springs. I would LIKE to be able to install a 90/90 setup, eletric water pump and pulley when the cam does go in so we'll see.

Able to run 11's on a 10-bolt. That'll be awesome I'm so exited for you. I can't wait too see the grin on you face after you take it for a drive for the first time Ah the feeling of the first power-boost mods on a stock car...simply priceless

Now you're getting me exited about my hawk's plans. I cannot imagine my relatively-stock heavy pig able to run consistent low 12's and finally able to live up to my plate's statement

my headers might be in Friday

The electric water pump is great for the quick cool downs at the track between rounds, but I'm not sure about possibility of reliability issues using the electric pumps on daily drivers. I'm sure there are people here who could add to this. (continuous duty reliability issues using the LSX aftermarket electric water pumps???) One other thing, the higher stall converter sure took away all my good fuel mileage bragging rights--even w/just 3.23's...but the smile it puts on your face w/a set of good drag radials when leaving the line more than makes up for that... Please tell me that you are not going to drive this car during the adverse winter weather months, Joe. WJ

didnt gm muscle go low 10's on a 10bolt????

And IMO, when i raced warren's old car the stall was perfect. The car would run the number everytime, was so close to an 11 too.... like 12.01, that car would 1.57 60'

10's would be nice hahaha

So you're slummin with the F-Body guys again huh? Good luck with it. Those damn auto's are fast.

Warren, the car has a garage spot. It hasnt been driven in the rain as long as I've had it... from under the car it doesnt look like it was ever in the rain. All of the stock exhaust clamps/bolts/nuts came off without any trouble, nothing broke. The catback isnt rusted nor the y-pipe. The car is really straight.

However, if my Cavilier dies then the Z28 becomes the everyday car and I get myself a motorcycle.

Awesome Joe, Don will get the car there.

It's crazy all the low 11 sec cam only A4 cars? I guess a decent cam, weight reduction, slicks, and a big stall will get you there.

I know if I lost some weight in the car and ran a big stall I would be there too.

For what it's worth I have a tci 3500 stall and I thought it would be big enough for my intentions, it's not. Now looking at a 4k-4200 stall, but I might go the TH400 route I dunno yet, I know Don would probably talk me out of it.

Anyways the only problem my rear gives me is the pinion seal. I want to take it into the sub 1.6 range next year, well see. I'd be spraying the car by now if I knew the tranny could take it.

Let the fun begin Joe, everybody says they want a 11.xx,10.xx car but once they hit that goal it's time to up the ante

Joe, I'm glad you were able to get your hands on such a clean, straight '02 Z28. Everyone knows that they're getting extremely difficult to find, especially here in the "rust belt".The '02 cars had the best stock exhaust manifolds of all the 4th gen Fbods, and a few other small improvements as well...w/a good aftermarket Y pipe, such as LG Motorsports, a welded in 3" Flo-tech cutout in the int. pipe, and a decent catback, such as the SLP dual-dual, they will run side by side with most any tubular header equipped, stock-motored LS1 F car. My car ran only .05 faster w/the cutout open, but a full tenth faster after the LG Motorsports Y pipe was installed. Only my opinion, but I've heard that headers help the '98-'00 stock-motored cars more than the '01-'02 stockers. I believe that Justin Bruso got my car to run 12.01's, from the low 12.30's that I was running w/it by just adding Hal shocks all around, and going to 3.73 gear. The valve covers had never been off that car....3550 raceweight. I believe Don's tune was in the car for 3 yrs. For what it was--it flew. With the upgrades you've mentioned for your Z28, I have visions of 11.30's in your future, 35-3600 raceweight, in good air, come spring.... WJ

His car isn't stock anymore

We did the 4000 stall, Shift kit,SLP lid/filter,Kooks race headers w catted Y ,lower control arms and I welded in some 2 point subframes. Car leaves nice posi strips
Now we just need to get the cat back and a better rear gear in the car

Joe, Congrat's on the new car. 13.3 stock and probably good for 12.19999@112 now with a decent drag radial. What tranny cooler did you guys go with? I'd recommend a 24,000 gvw B&M cooler, and maybe a TCI aluminum tranny pan. Less heat=longer tranny life. Can't wait to hear the new results, just don't let the police catch you messing around on the street.-Fred
