I have the g35x with the awd and its pretty nice but I wouldnt buy another one. Id be more apt to buy another jaguar x-type as it has neede zero maintainance other than oil changes, only drawback is that its small (my GF's car) so if I were going for another vehicle id be more apt to grab a Mercedes ML, BMW X5, or a jeep srt-8.

Or, you could buy a clean 36-40k mi. '02-'03 E320 AWD Mercedes sedan, or RX300 Lexus AWD SUV in the $20-22,000 range.....most of those cars have 100k mi. factory warranties, are ballsy cars to drive, awesome sound systems, every concievable option, great in snow, and get good gas mileage, plus most haven't had the snot beat out of them...If you look real hard, there are some private party one-owner lower mileage ones around for sale in the Boston, Providence, Worcester, Springfield papers. Your right Mike I have no clue what my oppinion is lol Btw check out the srt8 forums and look at the stupid problems people have been having with them. Also considering the ls2 is one of the most reliable motors and how many people on this board alone has gone 100thousand miles plus with ls motors with doing nothing but oil changes I don't know how anyone can say the ls style motors are less reliable then anything.

My cousin stopped in earlier tonite w/his just-picked-up Cherokee SRT8....Very nice rig. Kind of a firemist red, like the old Pontiac color--beautiful paint, blk glass, rear centermount exhaust, 20" chrome pimpers. He said just under $42k after hectic dealing. A good looking rig that the central Mass winter salt will beat up in short order, and looking at the wide tires, who knows what it'll be like on a slippery, snow covered road....I told him that he should've kept his '04 Wrangler Rubicon for the winter, ha ha. The Cherokee is pretty stealth looking though, and the interior quality way better than the GM stuff, sorry to say.....Overall, another good looking Chrysler-benz hot rod. WJ

Contour SVTs are hard to find. Ford stopped making them, cause they were fearing that the Contour SVT would overtake their flagship mustang.

Havnt read every post, but to me this decision is easy, go with an Equinox/small to mid size GM or Ford truck. Even optioned out this will run you 25-30K, get good gas mileage, have 4wd and storage space. No real reason to spend $$$ on a "fast" truck when you have a 600rwhp LS1.

I am still voting for a ^^^ GM truck, extended cab or quad cab!! So many things you can do with a truck too...

Question is whether it has to be an all out performance DD or if you want more luxury than go. I was looking at a few of the trucks listed in the poll but decided to hold off due to gas prices, however the nicest all around SUV I drove was the mercedes ml320, ml430, and the new ml350. Although the style is either love it or hate it, the ml was the nicest, smoothest, most luxurious SUV that I drove. If you want to save money you can get a used 01-02 ml320 for around $20K with like 35K-40K miles.

Update...I have an opportunity for a '07 TBSS speced how I want (everything except the rear DVD player)...it's not the color I want but after factory rebates it's $36,000. So I'm thinking about that pretty hard. By comparison, I just drove a loaded SRT8 Cherokee, sticker $46,1xx, no rebates available. The SRT8 is real nice, the combo of power/weird handling actually makes for kind of scarey WOT IMO...feels like it wants to pull this way and then that way...unforgiving...feels a lot faster than the SRT10 p/u SOTP anyway. I don't really think the SRT8 is $10K nicer than a TBSS though...although I still have to drive the TBSS which I plan to do Sat...I'll keep you posted. Also, they had a 300C SRT8- it is an awesomely nice car IMO...but RWD and $47K & change...that's just too much IMO.
