yeah, the first time I took my dad for a ride with my new motor.. that's what he said, between the rear whine, and the 402 huffing under the hood, he said it's like being in a winston cup car during warmup laps... then I punched it a couple times... when he got out of the car, his skintone looked a little lighter then normal and he just shook his head. But, his description is relativly accurate.

that locker sucks I agree 100%.. I can tolerate alot, but that thing, I don't want any part of. That locking and unlocking sensation, just makes the car feel like something is broke.

Spool = yes
posi = yes
locker = NO

more gear.. MORE GEAR!!!! LOL. you're probably best off leaving it where it is, maybe 3.89's

I probably should put 4.30's in my car.

realistically the center will come out and a tru trak will go in and then it goes back in the car its the most cost effective way for my budget right now

I'd agree, that is probably the smart thing to do. That getting done once teh car is at my house, a better question... can it be done with the rear in the car, or does it have to come out? I know ya gotta slide the axles out, I hope you don't have to press the axles/bearings in... if so, then you're car's gonna be sitting up on jack stands for a week or 2 I take it LOL.

ive had 2 moser 12 bolts.....so far the first one was quiet but leaked,wouldnt hold tq arm bolts for more then a few days and then the axle tube split from the center section.... the 2nd rear noisy as **** and leaks so bad i get gear oil on the rear bumper and tail lights...as for m/t dr's not recommended for stick cars or trans brake.. i really cant see why not its a tire isnt it, i know people that have gone 9.90's w/ 1.4 60' off a tb with no issues

My dad has a Moser 12 bolt in his Camaro... and its dead quiet. But it does have a muncie 4 speed, so the gear whine from the transmission pretty much covers up the gear whine from the rear end.

Yeah, I've seen plenty of people running 1.5 60's with those tires with stick cars, so I think I'll give them a try. I'm too worried about hitting rain with slicks on it (I don't swap tires just for the track).

Hey Jay, I figure you'll beat me bad, but: A. That will give me incentive to keep modding
B. For the money you spent compared to the money I spent, I won't feel so bad

ya got me covered on the $ department.... but one thing that I can't ever undo.. I started with a brand new ws6, the only 4th gen f body I could have bought that was more $ was a firehawk. What did you buy your Z for, roughly 20k if I remember correctly yes? I'm 11 grand in the hole right off the bat because of that. If ya look at it, some of the stuff I've really done o.k. on, try buying a top of the line hughes th400 that's brand new, a converter and a driveshaft for 1600 bucks.. can't beat that. I did o.k. with alot of the stuff.. yeah I got burned on a couple things too.... but alot of guys, yourself included were saved those mistakes from the guys that made them (going to the wrong shop, etc.etc)

I have heard other people say stuff like that too.. and there is some valid points to it, but it's only $, goverment wil keep printing more, just have to find a way to get more of it

Whatever motivates ya works for me, by the time you put a kit on your car it should be a good race, your car with the kit vs my car on motor.... noone really cares how you get to a 10 second pass or better, it's just that you get there. I suspect, we'll both be around that 10.5 mark

But, we're both screwed anyway, look @ the top 25 eastern car list LOL, by june next year if your junk isn't in the 9.7 range or better you're no where near making it on that list.. go figure. I think we both have alot of work to do... if ya look at it that way.

Yeah, there are some sick fast cars out there for sure. I think I'll probably make it my goal to get my car to the point of me getting kicked out of the track on motor, and then slap the kit on there for the street. I'm sure that someday I'll put a cage in it and such, but for a while I'll get it to the point I just mentioned and then enjoy a car that looks totally stock except for the Borla tips and is damn quiet with the cutout closed, but runs in the 10's on the spray

no need for the ratchet... just have to tighten them good enough the first time... personally I've never had mine loosen up, but I'm also 6'3 and 275 lbs, when I tighten a bolt so it won't move anymore, it's not the same as the average guy LOL.

You've got a good plan for the car Ron, I'd stick to it. I don't regret for a second how far I've taken mine and how far I will take it.... but rest assured that another year or so I'll be in the market for a street car again because this one will be off the road for track use only. I dunno what I even want for a street car at this point, part of me wants a carbon copy of my car I have now, but an auto car, so my wife can drive it to car shows, etc.etc and I can just go for the ride. I am sure of one thing, it will be quiet, I'll never even take the stock muffler off it, and it wil drive like stock (well, as long as the boost controller is set that way )

Actually, I can only think of 3 real bad ones, the worst one had to be the first trip I ever made down the dragstrip with it LOL.. I've been hooked ever since!
