We finally had our little one... Last week my wife and I welcomed into the world our first child, Gavin Brien. He weighed in at 8lbs, 10oz and was 21" long. He was born with a full head of black hair just like his Dad. The doctors got his due date right on, he was born on New Years Eve at 11:27am, so at least every year he'll have no problem finding a party on his birthday. For us, it means a nice tax break this year.
I finally understand what people mean by a child changes everything. We are both exhausted, but couldn't be happier. It is such a fulfilling feeling and cannot be explained or put into words.

He is such a wonderful baby on top of it all. He rarely cries, is easy to settle, and sleeps through as much noise, lights, etc. We took him for his first checkup Thursday and then ran to the supermarket to pick up a couple of items. Well it turned into an hour and a half shopping experience that he slept through. He already self soothes himself with his fingers and hands and is nursing well.

He can be his own person, like his own sports teams, be into whatever makes him happy. My wife is a graphic artist and we were joking that he'll enjoy drawing and photoshopping cars more than working on them...
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I thought I knew what love was when I met and married my wife, but after having him it feels like my heart has doubled in size and I'm a mush now. It really is a great thing.
