My only complaints are:
1. You need about a 2hr advance notice if someone needs to get in or out of the back seat. The front seats go forward/back by elec only, and they are slow as hell.
2. Door lock/unlock button, or lack there of.
3. Trunk space is tight. Not a big problem for me, but its pretty damn small.
Besides that, I really don't have much to complain about.

Pretty much...
Great car, more comfortable than an F-body, better interior, more room to work in the engine bay, overall good DD and can stand up to some pretty heavy mods depending on driving style... everything if you build it up right!!
I love mine and the only car I'd probably trade it for, if I hadn't modded it would be a Newer Corvette!! '02-04 ZO6 or C6!!

Id rather have my harsh riding Camaro any day over a GTO. My girlfriend, on the other hand loved it.
I just didnt feel the road enough. I like to feel the road in my ***.
GTOs are like CTSv's. But with two doors. If you want comfort and power, get a GTO, if you want rawness, Fbody baby.

I had both an 05 A4 and now a 06 6-speed. The 05 took my driving style well for the amount of time I had it and I went through rear tires in 4,000 miles. The GTOs gas mileage is fine, I got 24 MPG in the A4 driving down to NC from NY. In the 6-speed with headers, I can get about 27 on the highway. Around town MPG sucks but I also drive it like it was meant to be.
If your going to make a strip car, get a A4. They handle the power fine. I know someone who has made numerous 10 sec passes on the stock trans and well over 100 passes down the track. If its going to be a cruiser and might see that track a few times a year, get the 6-speed.

I looked a 98 Camaro SS back when it came out. I test drove the thing and quickly made up mind no way! The car rode horrible! Fast forward 6 yrs later bought an 04 GTO brand new and loving every minute of it! Car still hasn't broke yet with over 100 1/4 mile passes and 32K miles (OK the clutch does slip a little).

You're right Dave, but Marco's has some mega-medical stuff.....I hope Marco plays the #'s and wins big. Then he'll be tooling around in a '07 C6 Zo6 with his nice new big smile.....

I just got my '06 GTO back from the shop after getting the exhaust system upgraded and other modifications done to it. When it was in the shop for a month, I was daily driving my 2002 Z28. Now, after driving the GTO for several hundred miles, you can't even compare the two cars. The f-body freakin' sucks ***. Period. The GTO weighs around 300 lbs. more than the Z28, but the Z28 feels like it's the bigger and heavier car. The visibility is also much better in the GTO as I can make quick lane changes with confidence, while with the Z28, I have to look twice over my shoulder before I make my lane change. And the steering wheel feels so much lighter on the GTO as I can actually turn with my pinky. Finally, the way you sit on the GTO feels a lot more comfortable. You're not sitting at nearly 90 degrees as you do with the f-body.
Bottom line, the f-body on the street is garbage compared to the GTO. On the dragstrip, it's a different story...

Exactly!!!
If I didn't have $20,000 in medical bills coming my way this year, I would have a bad *** car. I am an impulse buyer for sure, hell my 98 trans am was an impulse buy.
One thing for sure is, I will have a car the second the time is right. If anyone on this site is more passionate about cars its me. I love drag racing, street racing, and just plain out driving like an ***. It kills me not to have a car to do that with. My son's mother when I was with her didn't let me mod my Trans Am the 3 years I was with her. 2 weeks after we split I called Tbyrne and placed a $7000 order to get a Heads and Cam package. Unfortuntely for me I lost my great paying job and was out of work for 18 months. I had to make a sacrifice, and it's one I regret until today..I sold the Trans Am and took a huge loss. I've kicked myself in the *** since then, and promised myself I would be back in the game...Yes I bought the camaro for dirt cheap money, but the camaro just wasnt me, and I wasn't finacially stable to make the car what I wanted it to be. Fast foward 2 years My salary has increased $30,000 a year and even though I can afford a car....I need to make myself happier in other area's. The car will just be temporary happiness, my perfect smile will be happiness for the rest of my life.
Sorry for the long explanation.
Marco

Great comfortable car for DD with plenty of power and the above mentioned inconveniences. Just don't try to make them turn. Worse yet, try to get one fixed after only 1400 miles. Saw one go away to the tune of a $28000 repair bill in my rear view. Insurance Co got capital "S"crewed. Another sheared off a pole close to my house not too long ago. No one around here wants to fix them and lack of parts may still be an issue. Custom springs, konis, wider tires and poly bush's helped, but it still couldn't catch my fbod through the twisties.

they look like a bar of soap, buy a leftover, you will lose $10g in 1 year in depreciation
I'd buy a 100k mile C5 for $15g, no plans on pulling the plug for that model anytime soon
