Dans Truck
Thank you again Don for bailling me out of that mess. you da man.
I'm pretty sure wifey and baby are driving me down there on Saturday. you know she's gonna make me go to the friggin mall with her while we're down there.
I am scared to death to get it back. It almost doesn't seem real. I've been driving the Ranger for so long i'm not sure i'm gonna be able to handle that big bitch, especially with about 300hp more than it had the last time i drove it.
We should have a "dan's getting his truck back party" on Saturday at Dez. lol

That's simply awesome!!! Talk about having control of the road at that point!! LoL
Don't be scared, Be Happy!!!

Looks like we missed something .
Aggrivating. i'm sure we'll get it figured out.

I'll have to take it back and probly get a new computer. This computer gave us problems in the beggining but we thought they sorted out, guess not.
I bet if I took a ride up there and reflashed it with the same tune again it would run perfect until a long ride is done.

i'll say this, when it was running good it was a ******* beast. my buddy who followed me home with my ranger said, "dude, it sounded like a ******* jet taking off when you passed me on the highway". lol
we were side by side going 80mph, I gave it about 1/2 throttle and it took the **** off, lol.

The physical things to check on the alternator problems will include the alignment on the belt and the belt itself. The nature of this big cube/turbo setup is a whole lot of belt shock and awe when you get on it and out of it.

You may see evidence of the belt jumping up on the tensioner or flat out ware from the belt spinning on the alternator pulley. The shorter belt and a laser alignment fixed the cause but the damage was all ready done to the alternator. I put in a new one and we were fine until the first really hot track day.
Heat is the next killer to look at. Here's the pic for your site:

The heat shield is good but it still might not be enough. We were still getting heat shock from the header location where the altnerator had been moved on mine too. We tried putting additional heat shielding on the altnerator which helped some but that does block the flow of air too. So we ended up using a remote setup for the regultor to provide better cooling and that seems to have taking care of it completely.
So Check the belt to see if anything is slipping. Then check the altenrator at a parts store to have them test it. If it fails put a new one in and stay out of big boost for a while until you can come up with a shielding fix.
