I beleive as long as it is secure, there should not be an issue. They just dont want the driver getting knocked out due to a flying camera. If anything put it on when your in the staging lanes. it looks like a very quick install if you have everything mounted.

I'd just throw it on in the lanes.

Good point like you guys said. I'll have it all rigged, just slap it on in the lanes. It's definately securely mounted.

I mounted a camera in the back on the rear deck using the two car seat tie downs as anchor points. No one at e-town said anything, but that was 4 years ago.

They are called cruise cam's mounts, they are like $50 online. I just googled em'. Most places are like a month back ordered.

I'd think that would be fine, I don't think the tech would care.... but to avoid it completely, just toss it on when in the lanes, leave the camera mounted up on the bar etc.etc so you just have to clip it on and hit the start button.

getting one that mounts on the rollbar would be the most secure.. i assume you will be putting one in this year?

Rollbar, unfortunately not this year. I'm getting another type of cage, called a wedding ring, LOL

I'm just replacing the tranny/stall this year. Next year I'll get the cage, fuel pump, and maybe a little n20

Up at LVD last year I saw some guy in an Audi with a cam attached to the outside of his car! I would assume that it being in your car it would be hidden more than that especially if you put it in when your in the lanes like others have suggested.
