The place quoted me a carmate, open deck 18 foot with the back dovetailed. I want an open centered one in case I ever needed to get under the car at the track, I could do it with the car on the trailer. After seeing someone use one that way at the track get to something once, it seems like a good idea if you're in a pinch.

Little less weight to tow too, I thought about going with an alum one, but when this steel one is 2950 and the alum one was over 4500..... it kinda made the decsion for a steel one pretty easy.
good deal, im thinking open one to... im not worried about engine power towing but i know how my truck sagged with an empty 18' on the back. Brad's helper hitch works wonders with his big trailer so i gotta imagine it'd be great with a little guy. 2950 for a brand new one? thats not to bad.. I've driven a 16' and an 18', i liked the feel of 16' a little better but the car does hang off the end a bit. Not to much driving experience with them either..

last time I drove a truck with a trailer, was on teh way hoem from brad's house with gary's truck. I know my truck's not gonna tow 1/2 as good as that monster does, but if I can get to the track and home, I'll be happy with that.

If I have to put a helper hitch on I'm not afraid to do that, just want to see if it will really be needed. You might be right abotu needing it, but with the way the back of my rcsb 4x4 ram sits now, the back is about 3 inches higher then the front with no load on it, I suspect it will sag some, but not a ton.

With 2000 lbs of gravel in the back it sat lower, a good amount... but i can't see the trailer being as bad, over 1/2 the total weight should be on the trailer's axles, unless I put the car all the way up to the front of it. I think car loading position will have a good impact on it.

JL, I think you should just get yourself a big dual car gooseneck hauler and get a bigger diesel truck for your wife, and then you can haul multiple cars to and from the track.

Working on that. The stuff I'm looking at trailer wise isn't huge $, and for the amount I will use it they will suffice fine. After discussing with the wife, probably 2 years from now the truck will be replaced with a newer one, so I should be all set.

The dodge will handle the job for a couple season's I'm sure.

I did call them, waiting to hear back.

I'm also waiting on pic's of Bob B's trailer, he's offering it at a good price, so if the condition is good, I will probably pick up his and save myself a good chunk of $

the only issue I'll have with it is I'll either have to get the stuff installed on my truck to be able to bring it home, unless I can get him to deliver it to my house, which I'm hoping he will be wiling to do being that I'm only about 20 min from eastside.... that way I have the trailer at my house, and can get the hitch and stuff put on the truck afterwards... probably a better chance of it all working that way.

My only other concern is how I will go about getting it registered, as long as he has a title in hand that can bring with me to DMV, I think it should be relativly easy as long as we do a bill of sale somehow.

I have had over 3500lbs in my f-150 a few times and more, no joke, and pulling the trailer was worse than the heavy load. your def going to need helper springs or something over stock. I had a 4x4, off road, & tow package

I'm looking for an enclosed if anyone here has one for a good price.

Im not too worried about that, just want to make sure there won't be any paperwork problems.

I'm talking woth Mr. B right now, just ironing out a couple small details but I'm gonna buy his trailer. It's a good deal, and will suit my needs fine.

Bob don't ebay it, I'll take it!

sounds good, trailer looks like its in real nice shape. i gotta wait another month or so to have my father drop my trailer off to have the breaks done, and to have the generator/lighting issue fixed.

Dude I don't know what kinda quility the trailers are on Ebay, but they are around 15 to 1600 for a dovetail, and a wooden deck. They look great, I am buying one next month.
