Well, Pinks or not....it'd be great to get groups of people representing Dez's, Eastside, TP Matt, and any other shops together for a "invitational bragging rights race" sometime during the upcoming season. Almost getting a little late to plan it for the upcoming season, but possibly it could happen...if not at NED, maybe at LVD. Maybe tomorrow, others involved w/these shops can contribute to this idea, whether it be a run-what-U-brung w/some kind of handicapping, or a bracket race, (which many here hate), or a 7.0--10.50 sec. class, along w/a 10.501--14.0 sec. class, or just a n/a vs. power-adder format. Or maybe no one will be interested....

 

If it's an allout format, and it gets announced, I will sign up for a 2nd allout shoot.

I'll take another crack at winning some $. I doubt like hell I'd even get picked for the MIR date in june, or this one should it be an allout format, but we'll see.

As for an area shootout.. I will go I have no problems with it, I won't be the fastest car there, but I'm sure I won't be the slowest either.

 

Does Pinks do a weekday track rental for their shoot, or is it done on a weekend date, or??? Anyone in the know? WJ

 

i talked to the track manager of NED today and he's not 100% sure, but so far it looks as if its going to be a traditional pinks...

and warren im pretty sure they race on regular track days, just at night. This pinks will be at night on october 7th, and it HAS to be done by 10pm with out any questions. Thats NED's curfew... i dont think they have ever raced till 10pm on a sunday. actually maybe once at like a national event, but it doesn;t happen often

 

I'd go check that out in a heartbeat.

We've been talking about it and it looks like Dez will be racing it.We don't know which car since we have 3 shop cars now.I don't think any of them would be good in a slow 10 second bracket though

Shop vs shop would be great, however regardless of who's there I'll go.
Hopefully somebody from Dez or Eastside will be there representing.

If they do an "All Out" I thinik the only prerequisite is to have a car under a 13.00, then they divy up the classes 13-12, 11-12, 10-11,etc. That is assuming you get picked, I don't know how that works.

Having a handfull of shop car's match up would be awesome though.

I'm sure it would be great advertisement as well for any local shop.

(I'd love to see Mike Dez do his thing on that show .)

Don't hold me 100% to this, but in a all-out show, I think they run all comers, document your times, pick a 16 car field from the fastest 16 w/the closest times. In last show's case, those happened to be low 10 second cars. If you broke into the 9's you were D'Qed. Someone correct me if I'm wrong , but this is how it seemed to happen on last Pinks all-out. I know they ran off 345 cars (showed up to qualify, all different e.t. cars) to pick the field. WJ

What is the format for picking the cars that compete in a traditional Pinks episode? Anyone?

 

I believe you have to submit an application and they choose the match.They like to have cross-town rivals.

I don't think either shop has time to build a junker car to do it with.. and neither shop has a customer that's willing to give a car away.
