And what about the smell of turbo blue unleaded race gas..... that gonna send someone for a loop as well?
Only thing you're looking for are emmissions codes, stuff like abs, etc. don't matter do they?
1. Visual Inspection:
This is where we actually look under your car for cats, not all testers do this like they should
Even so, as long as you have cats (even aftermarket ones) you will pass this part of the test. We do NOT check for AIR or EGR or anything else like that.2. OBDII (1996 and Up):
For 96 and newer vehicles, we simply plug into your OBDII port and check for codes. ANY CODE will fail the vehicle, no ifs, ands, or buts.
But this is not the end of the world, If you do have a code/SES light, simply disconect your battery for a minute before you go to the test station, the emissions computer knows you're trying to pull a fast one on it, and will kick to the backup test (dyno test), which you should be able to pass as long as you have cats.
Now, if you've had your car tuned to get rid of codes, it may bump you to a dyno test as well.
3. Dyno Test (95 and Older):
This is where we run the car on the dyno at 25mph and actualy probe the tailpipe. The three gasses we check for are HydroCarbons (HC), Carbon Dixocide (CO) and Nitrates of Oxygen (NOX)... dont bust my ***** if I spelled any of those wrong
)Basicly, as long as you have cats, and your car doesnt run like absolute ****, you should be able to pass this one. Even in a H/C car, just make sure whoever is doing the test runs it in 2nd gear... if he does it in 3rd a car with a big cam may not pass.
Thats the basics, I'll add more as I think of it...
Guess the computer needs to play then......
Guess the computer needs to play then......
Where do you test emmissions too... I want to go to a place that's a little more lienient. I have cats in the y pipe and all that.. but a edgy street car/race car is what it is... no hiding it when it starts up.
