I never carried much weight, or rear seat passengers in that car---nor took it to the beach, etc... However it had the trunk full and back seat folded down and loaded w/slicks, jack, tools, and a few spare items for the trip to/from the track many times.(quite a bit of weight). I'd just change the shock adj. when bolting/unbolting tires at the track. BUT, if your heart is set on the Hal's--by all means step up for them....happiness is more important than money---but then again....what could make you happier than alot of money?? WJ

i'm getting the slp/bilstein setup along with the bmr sway bars.

i might get the bmr springs instead of the slp springs, i like the ride height alot and the slp bilstein shocks will tighten the car up.

this is a shot of the bmr springs

We know you don't race that much so street is more important.I use to run the SLP spring/shock package on my Hawk for awhile.Car handled and drove awesome on the street and still pulled 1.7 60's at the track.I switch to the HALS and got no better 60' times.

I will look into these. Thanks for all the suggestions!!!
FYI-
After the shocks, and fixing up my suspension a little, I plan to start saving for slicks. I just want to run 11s before the slicks, and I also want a set of Bogarts. So, it will probably have to wait until I graduate. I am at least hoping for 11s this year!

This is my area of knowledge. What are you trying to do with the car? Drags, street, roadrace, autox? The right parts for one will be wrong for the other. For the street The bilsteins are hard to beat, they even work well for limited autox/roadrace use. Konis or strano revalve bilsteins are the best for autox and roadracing, but can be harsh on the street and the koni can be a bit fraggile on the street. The drag shocks are ok on the street, but suck in the curves, and can be very fragile in street use. Sam Strano is the guy to talk to and he can set you up with the right parts.

My main goals with the car is a street car, with drag use approximately once a month.

When you say "slicks", you mean like ET Street Radials, or ET Drags? IMO, the M/T radials are the finest out there right now. WJ

FWIW I couldn't get my M/T radials to hook much better than low 1.7s. Been running ET Drags, and can pull mid 1.5s. I think with a 6 speed car your better with a soft sidewall. The radials work great on the autos, but I haven't heard much love from most of the 6 speed guys. Love the M/T radials for street driving though!

Steph I did the QA1 thing too...they do work nice at the track, though they are a tad bouncy on the street. That was the 50/50 F series, I know they sell 90/10 R series now, but I think those would be worse for street handling.

Ok if you are looking for something for mostly street use I would go with the bilsteins. I would get the strano revalves if you can afford it. the drag shocks will not be an approvement on the street. Yes they will help on the strip, but will be a letdown in the curves. GM's shocks sucked when new so with some miles they are not getting any better. They correct choice will make a noticeable improvement.

Im hoping for the 11's too im not even in the 12's yet lol.
Im in the market for a suspension soon enough right after i get my subframes and lca's. So anything you do and works let me know aight. Im looking at the bilstein shocks with eibach springs myself but ill talk to don more see what works. However the 3 way adjustable Competition Engineering shocks are only like $90 each
