car repair question

I changed the battery, alt and belt on a 02 Mercury sable. It now runs fine but the stupid battery light still comes on. Any suggestions?

test the system with a volt meter it could be under or over charging

I did check that. I will check it again. i test from the Bat lead on the Alt right?

You can test the voltage from any direct voltage source. The Bat. terminals would be fine. Whatever you could get to.

I already changed the alt twice to make sure it wasn the new alt. i also had it tested. all checks out. There must be some other electrical component that im missing.

Before you go ripping apart your car, clean and reclean all connections and retighten everything, also check all your grounds and make sure they are solid.
