Default Recommendations for a clutch...inside please

I have maybe 400 to spend on one, just sold my nitrous kit

Anyways, I was going to save for the oz700 but spending 1000 bucks right now would financially kill me.

Anyways I've been looking at the ls7 clutch and have gotten mixed reviews. Let me know what you all think towards a clutch! I have a spec 3 and would prefer not to go the o so hit or miss route

Thanks all

Chris

well, i did an ls7 in my buddies ta, it has been great, just be sure you get the spacer for the hydrolics.
i liked this clutch so much that i got one for my z06. im guessing it has held up in my buddies car, and my old mans 07 z06 so it should be fine in mine as well.
it is much more "street car" friendly imo for 500 hp and less cars

I dont need one, yet but I have been debating between the LS7 and Spec 3+, I am leaning toward the LS7 due to the power it can handle, streetability and im prob not going to more then a cam, UD pully, TB, tune, and MAYBE heads.

I'll have to take the car up to brad's place, I dont have access to a lift anymore

Thanks for the recommendations. It's a long time before the car will see any true power. I was thinking the RAM HD too, but I hear that's not to friendly on rears, and with a stock 10 bolt I need something that might take some of the brunt off that. The ls7 seems like it might be a good choice for me. If I had the money I'd look better off...

Anyways, how many miles could I potentially see out of this clutch?

His car makes less power than a stock LS7.

I think the LS7 clutch and LS2 flywheel combo is a nice alternative, Ive just always been a huge fan of the Spec 3.

well so far we have 3,000 trouble free miles on my fathers 505 hp z06, and neither one of us drive it easy, and my buddies ta which is making 360 rwhp has about 6,000 miles so far.
i'll let you knowhowmine holds up once i get it in. pretty sure mycar will beat the 500 rwhp with the spray.

lol, yhea, if i planed on doing my vett up more i would prob go with a sped 4 or 5, but im throw the injectors in, tune, and should be about 500 at the tires, and im sure the ls7 should be fine, and keep the car 100% smooth as stock

LS7/LS2 combo is def the way to go if on a budget. The steel ls2 flywheel is heavy as hell, but the combo has great pedal feel and grips hard as hell. Only thing I wish I had opted for was the aluminum ls2 flywheel to save on weight a little bit.

I will be running at the track from time to time, but mostly I want it for a year. After a year, and some debt paid off I want to go with a real heavy duty clutch.

I've been to several car shows, including the Super Chevy Show, and I have talked to quite a few guys about their cars. First, it is not unusual to get 100+ passes out of your stock clutch even with drag tires, so I wouldn't change it until you have to. Secondly, if you plan on using this car a DD the LS7/LS2 combo is the way to go. You probably won't notice the difference "driveability wise".
