First impressions of pullied shelby gt500
Well one of my good buddies borrowed his friends Shelby GT500 last night and let me say they move out for a heavy car. Hes running a custom smaller pulley (not sure the amount of boost over stock, full exhaust, cai, and tune). It put down 515 rwhp on a conservative tune. Let me say this thing screamed! We were blowing the tires off all through 1st and most of second gear, and the blower whine is just awesome. I wasnt sold on these cars when i test drove a stock one but man a modded one is a totally diff story. I will try to get some pics up of it but its white with the blue racing stripe. Really nice car, its def gonna need new tires though byt he time we are done with it haha.

As for being a taller person I wont fit well in 03/04 cobras but the newer GT's and up I stand a better chance, I really would like to get into one of those in the far future lol.

Yea its def good to take a ride in one. I took a bone stock one at my buddies uncles ford dealership for a ride and in stock form it moves but doesnt feel as quick as a c6 due to it being so heavy. However modded it feels totallty different and you wont notice the weight of the car nearly as much. The interior isnt bad either and I fit in it very well and im 6'8 255 pounds and my buddy who also drove it is 6'10 260 pounds so if your a tall **** you can fit haha.

Handling seemed ok, exhaust sounded very good under load, and I fit in the car really well for my height. It def. was a good looking car also and got a lot of looks. Actually makes me consider buying a mustang ok well only for a brief second If the new camaro wasnt coming out I would consider the mustang. Charger isnt a consideration without a 5/6 speed tranny. I like the new challenger but it's almost too retro imo. Oh well
the new challenger is where i will be spending my money when they come out

ill tell you, my GT feels just like my ls1 did. its a mid 13 sec car. and i am sure that once the forced induction goes on it will be amazing....the tranny is sick, auto 5 sp that locks up first to second. There is only a 400 rpm drop on the 1-2 shift..

yea I agree that 65K for it is a little too much, but man I have to say i was impressed. Driving it around town was fun too as everyone would look over and wave. Even when I had my cammed camaro I never got a ton of looks but it this thing it was a totally different story although im sure its the same if you have a nice vette. For a heavy car though it felt pretty nimble and handled well. I still cant get over the blower whine though as it sounds sooooooo sweet under load and I couldnt help but stay in boost as much as possible. If they were 40K Id have one in my garage right now.

I have to admit, the new Shelby Mustangs are damn sweet-looking cars. And wait 'till people start putting some built Ford small or even big block motors in some of those cheaper-priced fastback cars. They look like a perfect drag car, like the '67-'70 models were. WJ
