Default Wheel widening?

Anyone know of a place in the Tri-State (preferably on LI) area that can widen wheels? Would love to get some bigger rear meats on the GTO, but don't want to spend the loot for all new wheels, plus, I kinda like the look of the stockers. Just can't have the car down for over a week getting the wheels widened =(

Thanks for any info folks.

Good luck finding a place that does it and that you can trust. I would only send mine to Weldcraft. There is no way I would trust anyone local to do that for me. That's way too risky for my blood. But, that's just personal opinion.

I know, I have not helped at all and you just had to read a bunch of crap I wrote that you don't care about. Such is life.

Today's labor prices probably won't allow you to do this, not to mention finding someone reputable enough, but good luck. WJ

There is a guy here in Jersey that is real good off Rt 130. I'd trust him to do my Vette, and he was going to do it until plans changed.

Yeah I've passed by there a few times as well, any idea what they charge to widen a rim a couple inches?

Is there anyway they can widen a stock Firehawk wheel and not have to use a spacer for the back wheels?

The wheels are only widened in such a way that you have to use a spacer (only offset added to the center of the rim).

I'm sending a set of 17" GTO wheels off to them, I'll let you know how it goes.
They said about 2 weeks turn-around.

I am wanting to get my firehawk wheels widened. Why do you have to use a spacer? Why can't they be widened in a way you don't need one?

Any idea how much per wheel it is? I need to call them.
