Thanks Mike. How's the project coming? We are having the frame pulled this week in the kerminator, already designed the wheelie bars and have to finish the rest of my cage. I'm looking about 2 months probably due to the work we have here it's more of a weekend or after hours project...

LOL, Corvette tax..

The reason for the corvettes being so much more is because they are more labor to bend up and fit in the car. The z06's are the worst of all because the small trunk affords the welder a lot less room than a coupe or vert.

Most prices are entry level prices that people quote, our price is our price. This is the price you will be paying for my service, no additional costs when you come to pick it up.

We have done numerous installations and have been fabricating TIG/MIG welding for numerous years. Just because you don't see all the cages we have done on this site doesnt mean this is our first one...

actually now looking at the pricing, being that you will paint it and reassemble, it's not that bad. most places won't paint them anymore because they don't want to run the risk of overspray etc.etc.

the pic's of the vette in the other thread do look good too.

I paint them outside of the car normally, then respray after in the car. For this lightning we are doing now the owner opted to not have us paint it, he wants to do it himself while in the car.

I understand. This is not meant to start a riot or debate but 1K difference is a lot of coin to swallow.

I never said you cant weld, I simply said that you charge more then people who are more frequently referred to for rollbars...

MS Fab. did my bar cromoly with 2 swing-outs, painted, did all the interior stuff for 1700. Leo at Neverlift quoted me 1600 for the same exact thing.

There is a lot of competition for a very small market, just saying that those prices are not very "competitive"

I don't feel like getting into a debate with anyone, but the prices Mat posted are very good. To me any way. There are guys out there charging much more for roll cages than what Mat posted.

FYI, since we are talking about prices. In the beginning of 2004 I was paying $350 for a ton of domestic rebar. I am currently paying $800 per ton.

My local guy charged me 1150, but I had to remove interior and seats, and reassemble/install myself fwiw, so the prices that TTP has is about right IMO, removing the interior isn't a big deal, putting it back in with the main hoop tight to the plastic is a pita, and painting isn't much fun either really.
