the guy hammered a needle/thread thru it, held it at the top of the bottle by the string and then put the cap on, cut off excess string.
I was expecting to see someone put a piece of dry ice inside an empty bottle, you drop a piece of that in an empty bottle then screw the cap on, ice melts and expands so rapid the bottle will blow up like a grenade LOL.
Anyone that's had access to dry ice, probably has heard of it. Loud as hell when it happens too, like a shotgun going off.

hydrochloric acid in excess of 10% works pretty well too when combined with little ***** of aluminum foil.. its found in a 20% solution in the toilet bowl cleaner called "The Works". it does sound like a shotgun.. The 3liter bottles are even louder.
