NJ Ticket Question.
NJ Ticket Question. So I finally got my first one today in New Brunswick at 6:00 am. The officer said I was doing 75 in a 50
All the yes sir, no sir didn't get me to far. Has anyone had any luck fighting tickets in NJ. I heard somthing about a $250 donation to the court that will keep points off your liscence? I can't really afford a $500+ticket. Any info would help! There are way to many NJ threads in the eastern part!

Damn...that sucks. Jersey cops dont **** around...if it says 50, yo *** better be doin it.
alot of guys are gonna tell ya not to worry about the points cause they wont transfer over to PA but i dont know how true that is. your best bet is to go to court a try to plea out of it.(lesser offense). drop the old "i need my license for work..blah blah blah" and maybe they'll show some mercy for ya. goodluck though...sucks getting pulled over in Jersey.

I got my 1st one last week..1st ticket in almost 15 years...Im gonna show up and request to have them moved for being a safe driver...License has been crystal clear since i got it...They dropped my girls points for a speeding ticket a few mths ago. I dont think any prosecutor will have a problem removing the points honestly if you previously had a clean record.
the 250 was the fine and yeah i had to pay the court fees. Just get in contact with the town prosecutor befroe the trial and talk to them about what happened. They will switch because it is alot of extra cash to the courts.

youre out of state. only 2 points will transfer, no matter what happens. it might even be cheaper to just pay the fine, mail the ticket in, then it would be to go there, plead for a lesser offense, and still pay court costs anyway.

man you are lucky. well sort of. speeding fines have jumped sky high over here. and Staties are training and will pull you over for doing 5mph over. they have to hand out at least one ticket every 20 minutes or something. I know the fines range from $250 - $2000. Ive been lucky so far (knock on wood) been pulled over 3 times for speeding in excess of 30 mph, and still no points, and have not gotten a ticket for speeding. One actually replaced the $600 speeding fine and 4 points for "failure to wear seatbelt" (which I always wear) which is only 45 bucks and no points. he let me off easy because I have a super clean record ::cough cough::
