well its FINNALY gotten further than collecting dust in the shop. Still need to finish the strange brakes and a few other things... Im gonna try to do that tomorrow and monday.... but here are some pix.... i know most of you will be shocked to see it actually moved....

Looks liek a sick motor. question though is that the distributor in the front? If so how come not in the back like most chevy's??

Unless he did a conversion, LT1's do not flow coolant through the intake, in front is the Thermostat for a SBC GEN 1.

On LT1's in the back of the lifter valley, towards the passanger side is the whole for the gear drive, it looks like the bottom half of a distributor wich rides on the cam shaft and a rod goes down to the oil pump.

What he did was remove that idler peice and just put a real distributor in there and ditched the opti. Now it can rev past 7k with out issue.

Sorry I guess I worded that totally wrong I see where his distributor is but in the front of the intake manifold I thought that was another distributor hole since the water pump has the thermostat houseing not ever thinking that that was originally the thermostat housing lol my b

Nah no biggie, I had to look twice and I'm rebuilding my 383 LT1 this week lol. I looked under the hole and saw gap and there was no hole for the distributor. Just a brace.
