4 in the morning to Atco and two runs...
Just like Kyle, I got 2 in at Atco yesterday.
To start, Tommy and I intalled drag bags at 7:30 am. He did most of the work, but, I still felt relevant. Always there, we owe him big when his car gets back on the track.
Barry walked me up to the line. No red light. No staging f-ups...well...I DID leave the TC on after being reminded 1,000,000 times. Once I got it restarted, the burnout sucked. My posi got pissed and spun only one tire. Left soft and first run ever for ME and the car posted a 12.849 @ 109.01. All in all not a bad first showing but Larry fell asleep at the line waiting for me to stage. Sorry dude.
2nd run almost 3 hours later. I shook my burnout gremlins. I left alot harder. Little bit of mild wheel hop. Better 60' and 330' but hit the limiter on the 1-2 AND 2-3 shifts. 12.958 @ 107.27.
The car has alot more in it, but, I'm green and so are the tires. I look forward to learning the car and it getting to like me I suppose.
Lot of best times. Joel (all motor), Kyle (no bottle), Barry (new rear + "more"), me (LOL).

Ya know, I still don't believe that car is stock.
It was a pleasure. Nice to talk with you....especially after having my mind melted by Barry or PJ. LOL!
I almost forgot.....You had a PB too "all-stock" motor of course.

Least they could have done was be more organized. I don't know much about racing, but, even with that i could see the staff was a bit keystone cops.

Brandon I know it was a long drawn out day but I got there early so I was lucky to get 3 runs in. Yea Ken alot of people find it hard to believe what my car runs and that its stock motor, I just got a real strong one ( a bit of a freak ). The converter really helps as my sixtys are helping me run such good times. 12.33 and 12.31 at almost 110 is best to date, who knows a 29 next week maybe. Gotta luv the LS1.

Well, thought I'd share the latest....
We were wondering why the traps were so low compared to the whp....the 109 equates to 350-375 whp. I didn't launch too hard but I do shift well and should have been higher. I ran the same trap speed twice.....0.1 mph difference and 0.1 sec.
Turns out that the Service Vehicle Soon warning (NOT check engine) I get is subtly pulling timing but not throwing any codes. It comes on for a second or two and then dissapears and the power comes back strong.
You can see this on the dyno graph too.
Don't know if it's wiring, sensor, or programming.
Any ideas?

to all those who aren't concerned, Tommy found the problem. Turns out the new oil pump was sending a high voltage spike to the 'puter. It pulled timing just enough to cause a MIL but not store a code. Turns out the car is much stronger and fixed. Now I hopefully will see the traps if not the ETs.
That said, I hope the car will drive well on the 15th. We have a dyno tune next week with the new valvetrain and intake mods. Im hoping for a nice strong curve that will hold it's power to the new redline of 6600.
Wish us luck.
