Home electrical system...
* I grab a working thermostat from another room and connect it to the living room, it doesnt work.
* I measure the voltage, 120. I turn the breaker off, no voltage, turn it back on, the voltage is back to 120.
* I take the orginal dead thermostat and no matter where I put it, it works.
One thing I did notice is when I have the thermostat disconnected, I read 120 volts. When I reconnect it and measure the voltage, it drops to 6.xx volts. It's like there is too much of a voltage drop and it's not enough to power the unit.
The two rooms are 240 volts and the living room is 120 volts. This thing has been working for two months. Any ideas....or is it really involved and I need an electrician?
I tested my ohm meter and it works, leads together and I see continuity. When I connect it to the baseboard heater it see's an open loop.
I think the baseboard heater is dead right?
I need to drive to Syracuse, NY (7.5 hours with stops) then work all day night then drive back. Right as I'm seeing I have no heat.
"see ya michelle, toss 3 sweaters on" .......... DOH

I bet he did ask Don, but Don ignored him. Just like the time he asked Don if he wanted coffee, and invited him to the halloween party.
I got your back DIESO!! I'm not going to let him turn this back on you.
