I agree. I've had my vette worked on by four different shops and never had an issue like this. This incident is the exception - most reputable shops treat customers and their cars with the upmost respect and care.

What did you think would happen when the car was left with them for about a month? I dont like leaving my car with someone for a day nevermind a month.

Their was also an incident a few months back involving Jeff Creech and a gun. I won't get into details as I hate spewing hearsay but I'm sure that story will pop up as well.

if the owner would have just stroked a check for the 50-60k to replace the car he would be in business and making money. as it stands now he has ruined his name and in my eyes has no integrity to work on any vehicles. post this to as many boards as possible to get the word out. i think im gonna puke

I used to live in NC and Jeff Creech from CAM tuned my car once. I had a good experience with him, but since then I've heard of a few instances where he's cheated or screwed over customers in some way. If I ever go back to that area, I'll never let him touch my car again.

Guy is geting slammed on ls1.com too. there is a quote from him taken from another board where he replies to this. Car belongs to a girl nammed Melissa. He says he's lost more money from lost business on this than the value of the car.

The point of the story is the customer gave him time to make it right and it looks like he didn't. As said before anybody could of wrecked the car.Could happen to me anyday when tuning or when I do the 300-500 break in miles on big setups. The problem was the car was done and they decided to weekend drive the car for no reason and totaled it.Then he didn't make things right by having it fixed or replaced. If he had a shop he should of had insurance to cover this.

I dont think our shop insurance policy would cover something that happened before the shop was open and 30 miles away

Shawn, im not trying to get anything started between shops, but lets look at it as if it were worst case senerio... how should this have been handled if were before or after business hours and 50+ miles from the shop?

The employees insurance or ????

The employee has to be on the policy too, or they wont pay.
This is a completely different scenario than something happening in the shop.
Employees have to have good licenses and have to be on the insurance policy.

Jon,i really dont want to get into any of this right now,i dont know exactly what happened,i have seen a bunch of people saying different things-i'm not taking up for the owner of the car or Jeff.
All i can say is that i will never be able to answer your question because Va Speed will never let ourselves be put in the alleged situation.I can say we do road test cars during tuning for best driveability-but not more than a couple of miles from the shop.
