I had that happen to me when the new Vette came out couple years ago. i was checkin it out in the middle of the showroom and some snot nosed salesman, had to be 20-21 comes up to me and goes, "its nice isnt it?" i said, "absolutely!!" he goes, "get ya out of that firebird you got out there and into a real car." so i says," well thank you but its a Trans am and its just a wee bit faster than that Vette...its got NAWWSSS.." gave him an evil grin and walked out...lol.

Oh they love those SRT8 vehicles. The wife and I looked at a sightly used Jeep GC SRT8 and the salesmen was going on and on about how fast it was and how it was made to race, its power on the highway blah, blah, blah....meanwhile at the time I had a 569 rwhp Mustang in the garage....lol

We did the GTO via Jay Fisher so that was through a close friend. We did the Sonata through the internet and just needed to sign the paperwork when we came in. I bought the Mustang from a close friend also. And this Z28 I found on craigslist and told the guy what I would give himif the car was in as good of shape as he said it was.

I would hate to have to go back and do all that stupid price haggling at a dealership with the sales dicks.

very, very rarely do you come across a car salesman that is actually a car guy. youd have to find an old timer who sold cars back in the muscle car era (60s), then he'd actually know what he was talking about and probably have a love for the cars he's selling. in the end, 95% of them are salesmen. theyd sell ice to an eskimo if they could. all they really want is the sell, and commission, and if telling someone an uniformed lie/guess will get more money in their pocket, then thats what theyll do. id bet a paycheck that any of the douches you guys talked to that talked down your cars dont really like cars at all, and are hoping youll be some punk kid that daddy bought a fast car, and will think 'oh really, its faster? well then ive got to have it.'

getting back to the OP. if i could have/wanted a car for a daily driver, id love a G8, GTO, or ever V6 firebird. its about time we get back to big, rear drive V8 powered cars. as long as they have MDS of course.

its pretty funny how most salesman know nothing about cars, they just restate everything on the sticker and the sales clinchers their boss told them over coffee that morning

Yea @ my work we got the #27(red) and #417(black) G8 GT's in as part of the "first 888". They are really nice cars for 30grand i gotta admit. Took car #417 out for lil bit and they defintly roll out for a 4dr sedan, close battle for my bolt-on LT1 in the 1/4, but not too sure my sled would take it on the top end thou...lol

Today we just got a white and Gray G8 GT, along with a Black V6 G8 aswell..We still havent sold the first two cause ppl cant justify the markup for the "first 888" cars.
So we got 5 G8's on the lot now

G8 is defintly a thumbs up in my opinion

Check this out...at Atco

Looking like a better wife car by the minute, lol

Very quick, my 94 Z28 with Borla Cat Back and Nitto's otherwise stock only did 13.8@100. It took a lT4 H/C kit and slp headers, 3.73's, art car 2800 stall to go 12.4 @110 on a 1.66 60'. The G8 for being stock does make for a really nice family car.

LOL. Wow, some people. But hey if they get it you know what that means for us. our values will go up too. So I doubt they will even come close to getting that, but hey we arent buying it, its just helping us.

Unreal. Reminds me of the '94 Z28 I looked at once. Check engine like on, check coolant light on, maybe another warning light or two, wouldn't stay running, white smoke and little particles of soot coming out the tailpipe, bald *** tires all around, bad alignment, around 70-80k miles, for $8,000. I love F bodies more than anything but they are NOT Aston Martins.
