I haven't had the problem yet. I just don't run into it and blow up on someone.

AS PER TX DOT's site

The car with TX plates doesnot need an inspection if its out of the state until the car comes back into the state of TX.

No you dont need a VA Inspection either.

Kyle

Doing what? I worked there for two years.. Kinda wish I was back there. Navy of course. But I had a buddy that worked as a contractor over there. In the bigass tents they have or had, don't know if they are still up or not.

It doesn't really get around the "principally garaged" law here in VA though.

Since the car is principally garaged here, you have like 30 days (or maybe 90) to move the registration here.

Ill be putting TX Plates on my 2nd F-Body also.

There are ways around everything... esp. Communist VA.

VA can't make someone inspect a vehicle if it is registered out of state. No way around it.

Works a little different for most military personel since they are not actually residents of VA

Same thing works with Crappy VA's Tax's.... They say my cars worth this much $$ so there going to tax me on it every year...... NOPE.. dont have to pay it even if the car is registered in VA, because of the Military.

Now if its in my wifes name we do.... like the Durango..... that will be changed soon.

Like I said earlier though.... Youre gonna have to get a whole new loan for you to be able to do that. I dont know what Heidi was talking about, but it cant happen....

Kyle if your name is on it all you have to do is goin to the treasurers office and show them your LES and you have to pay. You dont have to change plates. It just has to be listed as military out of state.

They way this messed state is setup they actually can. It says in VA law any car in VA for longer then 60 days is required to comply to VA state laws. So no you don't have to get an inspection but if your car doesn't meet are laws and our inspection requirements you can be held accountable. Every State Trooper is a state inspector and they do everyone once in a while give a road side inspection if your car fails they will impound it.

Not for military Frankie. There are only certain laws you have to abide by, and inspections aren't one of them. How can a trooper pull someone over and impound their car for not complying with something their not required to comply with??

Thats the thing though.... His name isnt on it at all. A new loan would have to be put into effect with both names on there inorder for that to happen.
