Blaster, I had an F-150 that was getting me 8mpg. I went with the Diesel and have never looked back. Of course diesel right now is more expensive than gasoline, but the difference for me of 10 mpg difference it was a no brainer. People call me crazy ALL the time until they hear about my miles, then they call me a liar. I should them the hand calculated trips I've done and then belief. And thank you again for the compliments

my 08 is avriging 13-18 so far every time i fill up. that is all a mix of driving, from towing my 9000 pound car trailer, to a 6000 pound boat to empty city and empty highway. and ask anyone, i dont drive easy.

im also told ppe will add 1-4 mpg so i know on a highway trip empty at 70 mph i would get 20 no problem as long as my right foot didnt get the twitching

Upcoming mods will be 3000 RPM Govenor Spring Kit and eventually a new clutch (still on the original). No need for more power at the moment. It is nowhere near as glamourous or as fast as the newer Cummins or Dmax's or PS, but there is something to be said for simplicity and longevity. And you can't mistake the sound of the 12V Cummins, music to the ears.
Alot of people don't realize the potental of a 12v cummins. I have a 98 12v with AFE intake, 5 inch exhaust, 4 gsk, alot of pump mods, 100 plate, full cut delivery valves, 435 new era injectors, boost elbow, fully built trans with triple lock convertor and TC lockup switch. Theres more stuff i'm forgeting. I'm in serious need of a set of compound turbo's to get down my egt's that reach 1600 degrees plus real quick. Heres a pic.

That's like one of the most sought after combo's. The 12V cummins with the 98 body which has the updated interior. Does it have the 3rd door on the driver's side? Nice truck by the way.

No, I don't have one of the "holy grail's". I thought it had one when I went to purchase it but it didn't. I fell in love with it and had to have it, so a two door was fine with me.

I Have a 90 Dodge Cummins 4x4 5-speed with a 4in exhaust straight pipe of course, pump all turned up, Ol' Smokey Pin, 16cm exhaust housing for quicker spool up and thats it so far. I run like 35-40 pounds of boost and I get between 20-22mpg. My best is 24mpg. And i run it hard just so I can see that lovely black gold pourin out the back .

what a diffrance, i dont think i will ever buy a gas jo again.
i get about 16 mpg thats city/highway mix

i did a MBRP dual filter back exhaust and my PPE programmer should be in today. im told that will jack me up 2-4 MPG that puts me at 20 mpg avrage, and im told after about 3000-5000 miles i will gain 1-2 more mpg.
so far im 100% loving it!!
my gas cost per week has been pretty much cut in half!!
Hate to say it but don't count on the 2-4 MPG increase. You might get a little better mileage along with some performance (lower EGTs) but I don't think you'll see that much of an increase.

I have a lifted '07 Sierra (CC, LB). I usually see 13-14 MPG for a mix of country road/city/highway driving. I'm usually in a hurry so I don't baby it much. I did set the criuse to 65 for a highway trip once. I was seeing 20-21 MPG when I did that. Picking up the pace brought that down to 18.5. Besides the lift and 35" tires on 20s, I'd running the PPE programmer set on level 4, MBRP single outlet exhaust. This covers everything from the turbo back. The DPF has been removed and I have an AFE Stage 2 induction. I'll be testing a new torque converter soon. It's supposed to be good for a few MPG increase. I know what I said about the exhaust. I hope the converter shows and improvement too
