Default The wait is almost over....

After months and months of waiting for drag wheels, shop time and every other possible variable, the truck is almost there......

All the 10-Point pieces bent up and ready to be welded in

poor interior

these should work on the street

and these better work on the track....

Looking good, what kind of raceweight are you expecting from it when you're all done?

I'm not up to speed on what the truck's weigh, I am sure the truck is capable of single digit power, I know all the turbo stuff and the cage can't be light though.

Nice project, there certainly won't be anything around like it.

Last year the truck made 1 pass then got kicked off. At 9lbs of boost launching off idle it went 11.3 at 120mph.We figure mid to high 10's at 9lbs then single digits at 14lbs. I think the truck weigh's 4600-5000lbs.

the engine assembly is heavy and there is a lot of **** in the cab. Plus the big front street tires, all the tubbing for the 10-point and my fat ***, it adds up quick

How does the cage work with a pickup, I have seen them with the bars that go thru the rear wondow (will now be a lexan window right?) but where do the tubes attach, to the bed or to the frame? Knowing the way pickup's are constructed with the cab being mounted seperately from the bed I always wondered how that worked. Without attaching to the frame I wouldn't think the cage would really add any rigidity to it.

I'll have to take a good look at how it's done next time I see a truck done up. I know a guy that wants to do an lsx swap on a newer s-10, and was talking about a rollbar for it and whatnot because he wants to be able to run it at the track, but I have no idea how that is done on a truck

Cage has to be welded to the frame.

it attaches to the frame. If you do a search over on PerformanceTrucks.net and look for black sheep you will see how it is done

I'll have to look that up. SO they put a hole in the bed to run to the frame then, and the cage in the truck is mounted to the frame the same way I take it.

I guess once that's on there, there's no more removing the bed or the cab from the truck frame anymore... intresting.

If your truck is gonna be in the 5000 lb range, what would an extended cab S10 with an alum block motor probably weigh in at? Guy knows how fast he wants it to do, I just have no idea what it's gonna weigh so I can't give a guesstimate as to what the power needed to get there will be.
