Default Played with a few things on Phatkops 383...

We just didnt like the TEA heads and after tweeking and tuning we decided to remove them and go to a LT4 head that Edelbrock had just tooled up..We didnt know what to expect but once we got the TEA's off the car and saw that the valves were loose, guides were toast and the basic port job was not up to snuff we realized why we were loosing power on the dyno as the car got up to temp..

Soooo,we took the cam TEA suggested out (Small 242 Solid Roller ) and went to a XFI HR Roller using Dales specs but basically its something in the 23ish range at 58ish lift...We also used the Jesel Rocker shafts since we had them from the old build and converted the single plane victor to a 90 degree plenum and went back to a 58MM LT1 style TB..

We really didnt know what to expect as the car made 412RWHP/423RWTQ with the old setup but was eating oil and smoking once warmed up (TEA LT1 HEAD PROBLEM)

So we got her back on the dyno this Tues and with the new OUT OF THE BOX LT4's from EDELBROCK/HR 23ish-58ish/90 Plenum/58MM LT1 TB the car put down 429RWHP/434RWTQ SAE Corrected threw a LOCKED PI 3400 with a 12-Bolt 4.10 setup...

HP/TQ are nice a flat......

Its a shame the TEA's werent dont correctly but sometimes the bear gets you....

Edelbrock didnt promise us anything but IMO they delivered...

We are happy and Steves happy, the car made 501RWHP/520RWTQ on a 100 SHOT just for some fun but we wont be hitting it with more N20 until we get to the track in a few weeks....

Steve needs some seat time with the car again
