This Tranny is out of (deansdork)'s Trans Am. Speed shifting has fianlly taken its toll.
Rebuild in the process.

Im ordering Tick Perf. stage 2 build w/ a couple other added things tom so hopefully my tranny should be done by next week and ready to hold anything I throw at it!

How much power did it take to do that?
Was it grinding for a while or just boom and it was done?
Which gear is that?

KC, I also might get the 2nd stage kit from tick.. but might not and just replace and upgrade the parts that are broken. whats next ten bolt?

2nd gear seemed to always be a pain. like if i was to normally drive.. i could do a 1-2 shift fine. but if i was to wot and do a 1-2 it would not want to go into second and grind. i think over time it started to go out. I was powershifting into second and all i heard was booom!!! so took it apart at school and this is what i found. and power would be full bolt ons and a cam

to fix my problem I am going to need a new 2nd gear, 1-2 syncro, complete syncro rebuild kit, snap ring kit, input seals, i was going to upgrade with the steel 3-4 fork, and if i can swing it the Bronze fork pad kid 1-2 3-4 , Billet 3-4 Synchronizer Keys (with upgraded springs) , and Carbon Fiber Synchronizer (blocker) Ring Kit (with Steels)

lol nevermind now i know whats wrong with your car so what are you getting around in now that the ta is down

parts are probably going to be around 400-600. I am doing all the labor myself though.

Well let's see...there's a lot of issues going on with my tranny and just recently its started the grind while downshifting into either 4th or 3rd for whatever reason and no matter what I do as far as rev-matching on the down shifts it still likes to give that good ole synchro killing grind haha....Also on first drives after a long time of sitting (over 8 hours) 4th gear will grind for a few miles if I don't let the tranny get warmed up (weird **** there if you ask me), and if I also push the clutch in while going around a corner in 2nd gear the shifter will slide out and make the tranny grind if I don't actually hold it down with clutch in while going around a corner (its hard to describe if your not sitting there in the car with me so see what I'm talking about but I swear I'm not crazy lol)....

And last but certaintly not least, it's developed a whine while driving down the highway and just cruising around like I can hear the actual gears and synchros (weird ****) but ohh well lol...

If you want another project I would be glad to donate hahah...good luck on the rebuild man, keep us updated...
