Default The Madness is Over... For a While

Yesterday I graduated the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, now who wants to hire me (seriously)? I finished in 4 years its a miracle. Eventually, I will be taking the LSAT and applying to law schools. I missed the LSAT deadline to apply for law schools for the upcoming Fall semester (work+school+studying for important LSAT test would have been bad) so I now won't be able to begin law school until August 2010, and I need a better paying job than what I currently have. However, I am lucky to have a job right now though, and I am thankful for that. This is a really horrible time to be graduating college...

congrats but most if not nearly all law schools have "C-Section" Spring starting classes which you could apply for admission.

take the LSAT seriously. its the most important piece of that puzzle.

What he said, well sorta. I just took the December LSAT two weeks ago (dec. 6th). I believe the deadline for application for their first "tier" of most law schools is early January for this fall semester. You CANNOT begin law school on a spring semester. The Florida Bar has a set class schedule for 1L first semester students. You can transfer to another school for a spring semester, but you must begin in the fall. I'll be applying all over Florida this weekend. BTW, you can still apply, and take the Feb. LSAT. Just note when you're taking the LSAT on your application for the school, and they'll get it when the results come in. My order of schools that I would like to attend is UF, FAMU, Barry, Florida Coastal, and then Stetson. Anywhere else will be just to far for me to go right now.

Good luck!

Edit: Oh, almost forgot. I got an advanced kaplan LSAT study book if you want it. It's brand new, just used it for this LSAT. It cost me $35, I'll give it to you for $5 plus shipping. Very few can walk in and get a great score on the LSAT without practice, a coworker of mine is one, he scored a 163 without even glancing at a study guide. I thought I could just walk in and take it since there's no real material to study for, and I got surprised. I took it again this time, and I have SOOOO much more confidence that I'll have a great score compared to last time.

ya thats what I thought... I didn't know that you could apply for Fall without LSAT completion though. I will prob do that. I wouldn't want to go to FAMU, it's accredidation(sp?) is really sketchy

you need to pickup some material about law school admissions. i would also rank Stetson a bit higher than a few of those other schools..

No doubt, but cost and location are more important to me. UF and FAMU = public schools = cheaper.

About FAMU's accreditation. I just spoke recently with a recent grad of FAMU that just passed the bar and started working here locally at the State's Attorney's Office. She said that the accreditation is needed to for you to take the Bar is not in Jeopardy, that's it's some other Accreditation. Now, I wasn't really paying attention, lol, and I'm not familiar with the Accreditation process, so I'm not sure exactly what she meant. But, she did make it known that I would be alright, and not have to worry about Accreditation if I went to FAMU

Congrats on getting the degree, I know college can be a bitch at times, but adding in this current job market doesn't help!
