I ran a 11.49 @ 117+ mph on my first run. No traction in first gear. Had to slowly go to WOT so it would hook. I need to go to some 12" slicks. I still had a new best sixty foot of 1.67.

A very fun day for me !! David (tunedportcj5) snapped his output shaft on the first run. That really sucked.

Thanks Bro. I think the only thing holding it from a ten second run is slicks, good air and adjusting the shift points on this damn vacuum tranny. That 11.4 run was logged...She was shifting at only 6,000 rpm...lol. Little short don't ya think
We got it adjusted later but I couldn't launch any more. My sixtys went to mid-high 1.7's and spinning most of first gear.

I found a deal on some 16" x 12" Slicks but I need some 11" wide wheels. Keep your eyes open.

Thx,
Pitt

If I see any deals, Ill let ya know. I bet that thing would like to see a little bit higher rpms than 6k. That thing will see 10s by the next track visit if you get those slicks.

Thanks for the pic's David. Looks like I am the only one that can't yank the front wheels off the ground.

Time for Nitrous and big slicks

Sorry about your Z !!

It was a great day at the track. A new PB also, the 1.5 60ft was awsome. It usually would 1.7 60ft. I knew it was a good when it launched just not that good. Thanks for the pics. I need to get some video of it launching like that.

My friend in Calorado that is coming down for our Jan 31 track meet in Gainesville is bringing me a set of almost new 12"x16" M&H slicks for $150. He was cutting 1.3 sixty foots with his Buick GN. I am shopping around for a set of rims on Summit that will fit a chevy truck. Raceline has some 16"x10" for around $129 ea. I may change the front to skinny's while I am at it. May as well finish this truck up except for the nitrous (save that for when/if I land a job).

Mark (10.68 ?) and I hit a new best today...I never did talk to Doc ???

Well guys, fell short of my goal. The slicks apparently were too wide for a 10" rim and it was swerving all over the track. Thank goodness I brought my old ET radials..ran a best of 11.51 on the slicks, 3 runs total (2 runs aborted half way down the track). Changed out the tires and ran 11.3 @ 117 and then a 11.17 @ 118 mph in my Silverado. Will have vids tomorrow. My eight mile was 7.05, sixty foot was 1.57. Still can't let the TC flash, having to slowly press the gas. I'm still sittin on 2-3 tenths in first gear. What a fun day !!!

Gainesville was great today. Not super busy like normal first TNT Saturday of the year. The Nova got got seven runs in her, 4 before noon since I woke up early in the 7 am cold. Hopefully the track photographer got some good shots of the transbrake launches 11.12 at 119.7 mph best. Next week should be some spraying....

The Silverado is sick! I was thinking spray but got the clue from a certain yellow Trans Am

Thanks man...nice Nova. No spray till I get this tire issue worked out. Still can't come out full throttle letting TC flash. She just roasts the tires. She comes out flat...no wheel hop, just too much torque and spin.

Where do you check the pictures out at ???
