Default Finally back on the road

Some of you remember the issues I had with a transmission I bought from the for sale section here. He finally caved and gave me some money back. I was able to get it rebuilt for slightly more than the money he gave back. I did have to replace the hydraulics he sent with new ones, his were junk. So I am out that money. I went ahead and put a new LS7 clutch, since I was in there a second time.

So now I have replaced the rear end with one with 4.10s and a cover, we welded the tubes too. We thought my noise was coming from back there but turned out to be the tranny, so that was a mod I got as a result. While I was in there I installed a Racetronix fuel system. Rebuilt tranny, and new u-joints. It drives amazing now.

I tinted the tail lights and side markers, installed new headlights, and an SLP grille too. WHile it was up in the air we also installed the ground effects. Had Torquejunky paint them for me. Oh got some new shoes too.

So all in all we had a lot done all at once, or in a short time. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong anytime soon, I am out of slush money.

Here are some pics

Those gfx look killer John. Kudos to torquejunky's paint.

I am glad that the thing drives great again. Long road, but worth it in the end!

probably should not have dropped it LOL.
I will get to it ASAP, my kids Bdays are this weekend and I'm due to be an uncle pretty much any day now. I may end up taking the kids up to Tallahassee next week, but I'll let you know as soon as I can do it and you can drop it off or whatever.....

LOL, yeah that sucked that it fell off the truck.

I think I am going to start on it tomorrow myself. Not positive that I am going to fill the letters yet though. Should be easy enough to get it smooth enough for flat black. I hope! If I could find another one cheap I might buy it, just in case I screw it up.

Isn't that the rear you just bought on here? Why do people put stuff for sale here that is junk? Why screw over fellow tech'ers?

Yeah, I got to drive it for like 3 miles since I put in the tranny, I made it to Beresford and Woodland and was going down Beresford about half way through 2nd and about 1/3 to 1/2 throttle. It at least made it home, didnt have to get it towed. He told me it was making some noise, but we thought it was just the type of gears that were in there. I guess it wasnt, and BOOM.

Well, you get the rear cover, and maybe you can sell the axles and posi unit.

Those were my thoughts, and when I bought it I thought that too. Sucks it went this fast though, I was hoping for a couple thousand miles at least.

Old rear back in and I drove it a few miles tonight. Very quiet and no more issues. Now just gotta try to recoup some of my losses on the rear. Turned out I was only able to use the cover. Not really worth what I paid, but at least I got to use something.
