I found one in Lakeland for $800 + $200 core charge it's a 2000 4L80E. No telling what kind of shape it is in but I got it anyway!

Well, I know I have more stuff to get before I can do anything with this tranny. I need the conversion harness ($200), probably a rebuild ($???), Yoke to fit the drive shaft, etc., etc. sooooooooo, I'm a lot closer, but not there yet.

If I don't hurry up with this, Blingole is gonna start selling off my parts to cover rent for all of the space I'm taking up at his shop!

Don't give up on me yet Mike, ..........it won't be long now!

He told me once before that he knows a great tranny builder. I haven't talked to him in about three weeks, I will have to swing by his shop.

Thanks Mike......... It really shouldn't be long now, I'm pondering now to go ahead with the build and wait on the transmission swap until a little later. All of the things that are changing is going to be a real trip trying to get tuned right, let alone switching trannys. Either way, I have a few more things to buy for the tranny before it would be ready to install. I'll work on getting that stuff and meanwhile think about the route to go with the Camaro.

Thanks for checking on that tranny. Yeah, I really wanted '99 or newer and so the '97 wouldn't have worked. Your friend ok after his heart attack?

I didn't hear you say.........you got your hot rod ready???

ya man hes good. He had high blood pressure and never took his meds for it, so a month later he was having chest pains. Of course ya know. But hes fine now.

ya i got my car going with the bigger turbo and stuff. Going to be on the dyno in about 3 hours with it and then if theres time ill be going to a track somewhere and ripping it up. I did drive it on the road and just was monitioring the air fuel with the old tune and it was off a good bit. I did notice it pulled harder than it EVER has! Im so excited! I want to be in the 12x's in the 1/8 and 5.xx et's and now im feeling like i got the mph and close to the et.

Who has the chassis dyno around here now?. When I had the truck running with a carb, I took it to a place right on RT 92 just east of Combee road in Lakeland. It wasn't too fancy a rig but it allowed me to get the A/F straightened out a little better than it was.

Good luck hitting the 5's........... it's a blast, huh!

Th400 trans,9 inch rearend. All custom built. The convertor was flashing up to 5500-5800 so its actually lower than it should be. Plus that was on slicks. Also that was corrected,it wqas putting down a little more actually.

Once I get my boost creep fixed and build my new block I want to have a dyno sheet that says 1xxx sae rwhp.

my favorite is proven power off 301 and i 75, its a 1 yr old dynojet that gets serived regularly and they have numerous widebands.

then local
theres jimmy's auto clinic (mustang dyno)
allen moore which is about a mile north or jimmys (i think its a mustang dyno, but its a good tuning dyno.)
and rick bliss has one off knights station rd. has a personal one which is a really nice top of the line superflow dyno thats sometimes able to be used.
