Default Need Info

Does anyone know what thread size is used for the cooling lines going into the radiator on a 2002 camaro. When I do the transmission swap, I want to run 6-AN braided lines from the transmision to the radiator, out of the radiator into an independent cooler (with fan) and then from the cooler back to the inlet side of the transmission. It looks like the cooler lines are threaded into the radiator but I have no clue what adaptor I would need to buy to take the fitting to 6-AN.
Info would be appreciated!

Honestly I wouldn't mess with even running it through the radiator first. That will just heat the fluid more before the external cooler cools it. when mine was auto I went to an external cooler. Just bought a 2-foot peice of 5/16 rubber trans cooler hose, and some of the high pressure clamps. Slipped the line over the flared endof the factory cooler lines and the cooler had barbed ends. To be safe I double clamped it

I don't disagree with you guys but it does go against all that I know and have heard about coolers. I have always believed that running an auxillary cooler in series with the radiator is always better as long as your OEM cooler is not plugged or leaking. It increases the surface area, cooling the oil even better.

Have all of you had bad experiences with running them in series? I would like to know if I have been doing it wrong all these years!

Dave most trans temps under normal driving conditions see 160-180*. When you run it through the radiator that is filled with 190-210* coolant it will actually raise the trans temp. If you series in an external cooler, it has an even higher temp fluid to try to cool. This has been my experience with them
