One mile runs 10.11.09

Yeah, that airport has a strange history. It was meant to be the largest airport in the world and be able to handle a variety of supersonic jets that were never actually built. And environmental concerns stopped building after only the one runway was built.
From memory the runway is asphalt and the airport web detail sites say that it is 10500ft x 150ft so just less than 2 miles long. Plenty of space for a great run. No idea how well it is maintained though.
I've picked a couple of privately transported cars over there before. The 'Dade' designation is because it is still owned and run by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department.

Here is the history of the airport, http://members.tripod.com/airfields_...FL_Miami_N.htm , and an aerial shot, http://wikimapia.org/62639/Dade-Coll...on-Airport-TNT
Regarding driving, it is 30 miles west of the intersection on Krome Avenue and 8th street, on The Tamiami Trail. My drive will be 80 miles from Coral Springs, and based on the V getting about 10-12mpgs, I will need to re-fuel going out there and coming back. I would think there are gas stations on 8th street before you head out on The Trail?!?!? Anyone know if they will have high octane fuel vendors at the event? Also, hope there aren't any sizeable critters waiting for us as we hit top speed.
This is going to be a damn fun time, IMO, more fun that running a 1/4.

10-12 MPG? Really? Do you floor it EVERYWHERE you go? (I'm guessing yes, lol.) If thats the case, we need to fix that, plus you prolly leaned it out a bit with the 90mm t-body, get in touch with Mr. Mangs and lets get your beasts dialed in.
Any word from your cousin on when he wants to get the Z06 retuned, or is he waiting for the GTO to get done?

Thats pretty cool regardless. Atleast there is alot of american cars there. And, did you see, a carrera GT. Very good sounding V10. I'm guessing it'll do 170-180mph in the mile. Anyways, should be a really nice turn out. Bur, wheres the ford GT guys,..wheres the viper guys? Several supras,..a couple of vettes...where's all the exotic's?

Wondering myself. I was thinking maybe a slow roll?... but it wouldn't be a standing mile lol. I think the numbers maybe people give themselves. but, I am probably wrong.
