I will be pulling for the goats but I think that putting up GM's heaviest cars against some of the light weight mustangs is asking for a beat down.

Change of plans Hello fellow Ponywar attendees. I just got off our dyno and I just recieved word that the start time has been bumped to 11am vice 9am due to the weather. I have been trying to get ahold of everyone that was going to meet up at the shop and ride out with us to tell them this. I am posting this as a failsafe for those I didn't directly speak with tonight.
We are now planning on meeting up at the Cracker Barrel on I-10 and Chaffee Rd with a departure time of 9am.
Mother nature is, well mother nature. All the extra taxes and expensive metorological equipment and yes, cow farts are not going to change what she wants to do.
Hope to see everyone out there tomorrow.

Great event. Bitter sweet day for me. Ran a best of 12.5@112mph, with a best mph of 113. Couldn't get better than a 1.9 60' though. I gotta practice some more, I was either dead hooking and bogging or slipping a little off the line. But on my first run of their "street 16" class I decided to rev her up to 5grand and drop it. That ended up snpping my stock driveshaft in half. Either way I ahad a nice time and really impressed what my lid/exhaust/ls6 intake car did.

I was there and watched as that happened and left shortly after. I didn't bring my car and just rode up with some friends. Did you manage to get a new drive shaft while you were out there or did you have to tow the car back?

Ended up towing her back, got a tow dolly from uhaul. Funny thing is that me and my friends that went with me were planning on bringing a truck and trailer but plans fell through the night before.
I just like the fact that we southern boys got a chance to get a taste of that mineshaft air that those northeast boys get! I know my numbers are inflated and that 110mph trap would be the norm, but that doesn't mean I can't brag about the times!

I know what you mean my Z ran a best of 12.779. A little faster than the norm bur got the job done.
Sorry about your drive shaft I was 2-3 cars back when it happend. I took first in the Street 16. In my red Z 28. I hope you get it put back together Ok and stronger.

Sweet I bet it can handle 5 grand.
I was not the fastest but it was very consistent.
Did you watch any after you broke.
My first run was against the red trans am he followed Doc up with me, that was the closest run I did not know who won till the ticket booth.
The lightning was late leaving, I left him sitting there. Really cool guy though.
The silver supercharged mustang missed a shift and then spun. Another good guy.
The blue turboed mustang was late then dumped the clutch, he said his tires got wet and that is why he spun but my wife was taking pictures and I was almost a car and a half ahead before he moved.
Everyone I ran in elimanations was faster on paper and the all ran better times than me all day. $hit happens, either way I had a blast.
Would have been cool to have been a camaro final.

Chris, you got off easy with the driveshaft fail. One of our customers that was heading back with us to JAX had a really bad night.
Heading south on I-75 just over the Florida line I was running lead in my 02 Silverado. It was about 9pm, with bumper to bumper traffic. By the time I saw the object in the road there was no way to avoid it. I drove over the object-the truck had no problem clearing it. The 02 SS behind me did not make it.
The chunk of a semi-tractor trailer's driveshaft hammered his k-member and proceeded to take out his oil pan and transmission case before reaking havock on his exhaust.

That really sucks to hear about his SS it is super clean and nice. Tell him I wish him better days.
I have something I need you guys to look at for me I will call on Thursday. My wife's car is in the shop so she is driving mine. The more she drives it the more she wants one I love it. I am looking around for her one now.
