Good job man. Sounds nice. I just went through something similar with my SS, but after tearing down the motor I discovered I had a blown header gasket. Had the same kinda screeching/ticking noise. DOH!!!!

i always swap out lifters for what its worth i run the gm performance parts lifters from summit cost is cheep insurance with new cam.i ran the gm performance hot cam .car needs a tune but you can still drive car with no motifcation to pcm if you $$$s not right a good tune with dyno cost $400.00 more $$$ .+ the guy who owns the car is not a racer and i talked him into putting a cam little chopier than stock ,car is a daily driver so gas milage is important .alot of guys bashing me for not using the asa cam but with that cam it needs a tune pronto.ive used plenty of diferent cams and i know the performance you can get with a better cam,i build your car to your wallet .if u dont have the $$ to put springs in every year than u get a small grind cam if you want hp and $$$ alittle spray you could have a low 10 high 9 second daily driver like me lol.
