Ya the owner and his wife were Very nice.. which was really surprising to me since its Miami and all...lol But ya they owned the car for two years..the car was kept in alright shape but it took a good 4 hour detail job to get her looking great. The motor and other little things (seatbelt guide, sunvisors/headliner and removing the faded black molding) and taking out those damn yellow seat covers were all cheap/free to fix making this $5800 TA a great buy. We both cant wait to turn it into a low 11 second monster..

Yes, it definately needed a REAL good cleaning when I saw it. I wasn't sure if the side mouldings were faded or if the paint had worn off. They just looked black to me. Yeah, those seat belt guide things bugged me when I put the belt on. Way too bulky, lol.

The guy was very nice, although he seemed to have some odd misinterpretations of the car. I think he told me it was a factory installed LS2 or LS6 instead of the LS1. He also thought the light for the coolant level sensor was for the winshield washer and that it needed a new pump. Nothing serious, just some misinterpretations. He and his wife were very nice though.

Definately get rid of those speakers. However... I would keep the power stabilization thingy. I'm sure that puppy isn't cheap and would probably work for you if you added a stealth box with an amp.

Not sure if you plan on replacing the broken dashpad or not, but when I replaced mine a couple weeks back, I ordered a dashmat from the company of that name. Same as I had in my Z28. That alone will keep your new pad in perfect shape. I have one in my 91 Trans Am and the dashpad in that is perfect after almost 20 years. The color of the dashpad that matches the closest was Cinder. Should be the same for yours.

lol. My cousin said the guy said there was a 408 in it or something dumb like that. I will get rid of the speakers eventually.lol I will ride around for a little bit with them and then I will put in the stealth box that I got... Should be a nice setup...

Looks like you got yourself a nice looking red T/A.

This looks like the same build as my car. We should be a good race when you get her all done. It would be fun racing someone with an equal car. Every time I go I seem to race a slow pos, or something crazy fast

Nice T/A...My two favorite colors on them are red and pewter...What plans do you have in store for yours?

And ya the guy was just trying to sell the thing he was saying it had 400 to the wheels and they came factory with Dart 208 heads or some ****..my buddy Joey with a GTO and I were playing along like Dam really dart heads, 400 HP LS2 sick!!!.. and yes the molding was painted black over the stock color and was chipping off...Did he tell you it needed a new WP or was it somthing you noticed? No overheating for 150 miles so far..maybe he replaced it. There is a squeaking noise that you can kind of hear in the video but it sounds like its coming from the idler pully.

I think that he meant the coolant level sensor was bad and the guy thought that the light meant that the windshield washer pump was bad.

Edit: Wait a minute....You don't like silver Chris?!?!?!?!

Yeah, not the water pump, but the winshield washer pump. He told me he hadn't had to repair anything at all since he got the car. Of course it did currently need a few repairs which you already know about.

I didn't say much when he talked about the LS2 and other "factory" stuff. I already knew what it had and it definately wasn't an LS2, lol. You also got a better price than it was listed for at the time. I think it was, hmmm, 6500 or 6900 when I went to see it.

As for my car, first and foremost is getting over to Lashway and getting a proper tune on it. That will involve correcting the speedometer due to it having different gears now. I was told is was a carrier from an 01 or 02 SS, and 3.23 gears which didn't make much sense. However, I do think it's 3.23 based on how off the speedometer is currently. Could be wrong cause it was just a real quick math job I did on the numbers and that's not my strong suit. It was like showing 90mph on the speedo in 4th and the GPS was showing roughly 77-78.

It definately needs a tune as the previous owner used a handheld to modify shift points and idle speed then removed it before sale. The car currently has no emissions, all in the trash, cats too. Lid, LS6 intake(verified by the numbers), longtube Pacesetters which bg the hell out of me cause they were just painted and not cermaic coated ones, so they are peeling and rusty. Different rear end gears, and some kind of new muffler. No idea if it's OEM or otherwise. Could have other work done to it, but I'll know more when I can get it over for a tune.

As for what I'm looking to do... Replace the C4 rims with the factory ones I just picked up, replace the headers with proper ceramic coated race headers with no welded emissions holes. Proper Y pipe and they left the factory Y in. Transmission work incuding a stall to bring it back to where my previous Z28 was then I'll see from there.

Oh, and here is what the Z28 looked like before it was destroyed. The front end and engine resemble a jigsaw puzzle now, where ever it is now. Pictures might be kinda large, dunno.

Now that the TA is up to my standards after replacing a number of broken or things that just bugged me... Floor mats, sunvisors, driver door window motor, 3 headlight motor plugs, TA/bird decals on the rear, dashpad, driver door switch assembly, speakers, radio, rubber bump stops for a door and a wiper blade, rubber hood stops, few interior and exterior lights that blew or were blown, a seatbelt lock thingy(that was tricky figuring out how to get the old one off the belt and the new one on)... Now I can get it back up to and past the level the Z28 was at.

OH! and replacing the rubber Z28 shifter with no staple with a proper new leather TA shifter with a staple. Try driving around with a shifter that isn't mounted down properly, or really at all...
