Dodged a bullet, another cool cop. My daughter asked to take the Monster car to Chucky Cheese for a birthday party today. So I broke my rule about not driving my car on 436. I never take it because people cut me off constantly, go really slow and the car bucks and I often road rage. So I am leaving to go home, everything is going smooth, and of course traffic bottlenecks. Going 3 wide under the speed limit, just starting to get on my nerves. I got a little touchy, but drove OK. Then I get 3 cars pull in front of me in a row trying to get around a Winnebago, leave me a few feet between the cars. This pisses me off more than anything, my accidents have all been me getting brake checked and rear ended from behind which sends me into the car in front. 3 times it happened to me. So when I got cut off I got pissed, hit the gas and went around traffic and got to the open area in front of everyone and slowed back down. In my car I guess just a slight hit on the throttle is like punching it in most cars. I didn't really think anything of it because I wasn't really accelerating anywhere near what the car is capable of. Of course I hear the siren and lights as I approach 434. Cop gets next to be (on my broken window side of course) and tells me to open my window and shut off the car. So I do so and open the door and he tells me next time I go to jail, and I am lucky I am not getting a ticket for how I was driving earlier because he'd been following me for a few miles. And he went on his way. He was very cool and very matter of fact, but he let me go on my way. Got very lucky. He either had some place to be, or saw I was driving normal and traffic was pissing me off and knew why I did it. No excuse I know better, but I got lucky today. No more breaking my rule about driving certain roads.
I dodged a bullet last time I got pulled over too, I got clocked at 68 switching from a 55 to a 45 zone. The cop wound up being a distant relative whom I hadn't met before, I asked him about his grandpa who I had met and he sent me on my merry way.
