Default To coat or not to coat....LG Headers

Hearing mixed things....I do DD the car.....

Will be putting LG headers in later this month.....

Question is - do I get them coated - Jet Hot / Ceramic / Etc...

What do you recommend, and why?
What are the benefits of coating? negatives?
Average cost?
Lastly, who in south florida does good work?

Thanks

i say leave them alone, coating in time will burn off char etc.waste of money in my book and you barly see headers on a vette anyway.jet hot will do same but under hood temps will be slightly lower.its your call might be 5 to 6 hundered bucks to coat or jet hot.

Got mine coated by a local guy here in Orlando. Great work and $200 for the headers.

I got sucked into it by all the do it people on the forums. Fact is half of them no very little. I sent my headers in to Jet hot in Pascagoula (spelling) and they came back just beautiful. Three years later, they started peeling. Never got to fix them as my ex totalled the car. Just leave them or if you have access to a polishing arbor shine em up, they will look much better. Just my 30 years of experience trying to save you time, money and frustrations.

We offer ceramic coating...in different colors!

No coating will last forever. if you're looking for a lifetime shine, go with stainless and maintain them (wipe down once in a while )

Coating will help keep underhood temps down by insulating the primaries and collector. It also adds one more layer of protection against the elements, but again, no coating will last forever.

It will last longer on SS because there's no rust eating at it from under the coating. The ceramic coating itself is water based , and sprayed on top of bare metal so rust is always a concern.
