What about the new Dodge Durango R/T AWD. Plenty of room for the kids and stuff, plenty of power from the hemi and AWD. Just a suggestion, my wife has an 04 durango with the hemi and it will pull my car hauler with ease.

My vote is get a c6Z and spend 2k on a beater that you can take the kids out in. The best of both worlds?

Put your $20K down on the Vette and the $5K down on a basic DD; for $5K you can get a clean used car.

I was thinking of keeping my 93 mustang lx coupe, put the 5.0 in and drive the kids around in that but it is very small and would crumple like tine can if hit by anything big. So it's not the safest thing to drive them in but I've already got it. Although with the 5.0 in it I could sell it easily for around 6k and put a F1 blower on the Z06 lol.

Also I drive 60 miles everyday so a crap beater isn't going to cut it. I'm not going to chance getting broke down on the side of the road with a 2 yr and 10 month old babies.

I'd have to vote CTS-V. Can't beat the best of both worlds. I've rented a CTS for a few weeks and fell in love with it, can't imagine it with the performance of the V. And of all your choices it's the only one that you can get in a 4 door which will make life much easier with 2 little ones.

CTS-V any day. I was gonna vote that even if it wasnt one of your choices. Just watched the latest episode of Top Gear US, great review (whips the **** out of some Ferrari). As for the Vette, Im sure you could fab something up for the kids; but how long will they actually fit in that seat? Wont take long and you will only be able to fit one. I really cant see the point if carting kids is part of your decision. As for the Cobra, IMHO, dog **** ugly...

I've narrowed it down to the Ctsv or the Gt500. I'm going to just have to go drive them both. If I could get a new Ctsv for the price of a new Gt500 I would with out a doubt get the Ctsv. The reason for getting the gt500 is it would be a brand new car with a big warrantee. The Ctsv would need an extended warrantee that I'm not going to be able to pay for if it's not already included. I know the caddy would be pricy to fix if one of it's gadgets fail. It's all going to come down to what I can find in a couple months when I'm ready and how I like the way they drive.

So if you drive 60 miles then you have to have a back seat period. Now im a Gm guy but the new mustang is a sweet ride and has tons of power but i would go with a ctsv but i would take the wagon because there just to cool plus im a fan of the magnum so......you could always get a ctsv 2 door since you want a new car without four doors but still beat a gt500 then thats your car plus its a ls motor that you already know and love. Now i know theres a 15000-20000 gap between but you would have more room and you wont see as many of them rolling around like you will the stang.

On a side note why a gt500? Why not get a BOSS 302 and slap a blower and make even more power, handle better, pay less and get better mpg's?Plus its a 5.0 not a 5.4.

In your situation, CTS-V. If you didn't have any kids, z06.

There is a set limit of 45-50k out the door that I'll be dealing with so more money is not going to happen. The Gt500 is always going to be worth more than any 5.0. It's a collector car. Plus with my 5k max on mods the gt500 will work out better. The blower alone for the 5.0 is $6,500 for the same one you can get the TVS head unit for $2,500. Way less I would have in mods to make 700 rwhp.

I asked around about the V's mods and without major work it will be around mid 11's with bolt ons. An guy i know has or just had the world record holding 9 sec V He has just about a full built car when you break it down. The Gt500 with same
cost of bolt on mods with be knocking at the 9's. It will just come down to which one I drive and fall in love with.

I would love to be able to afford a new ctsv, and I would get the wagon too, much more practical and bad friggen ***. Nothing like outrunning that new 5.0 in a wagon full of groceries. My vote goes towards the ctsv.

Sounds like you have already made up your mind about the gt500 but for some reason you still think about the caddy why?Every point you have made has been bad on the ctsv and good on the stang but yet you forget that these two cars arent meant to be rivals. The caddy is a bad *** car in every way for a guy that has to have four doors and the gt500 is a bad *** car for a guy that doesnt have to have four doors. And as far as running 9's is that really the purpose this car will serve?

The cars are not rivals they are completely different. But I'm buying one of them so I'm comparing them for my needs. These are things that need to be addressed when in my situation. Bad *** car, power, gas milage, fun to drive..you can have all of these in one car. If I only had one kid it would be the Z06 without question but I've got two so it needs a back seat. I drive 65-70 miles everyday so gas milage is a consideration when I will be spending so much on gas.

I've done my research and it will come down to which one I drive and like the best.
