Default Window Tint

Looking for a decent shop with good prices on tint in Jacksonville. Also, jax doesn't enforce tint do they? I only had my other car for a few month up here with 5%, never had any problems.

I use rollin sound in orange park off blanding. Guys name is Lee and has done over 10 cars for me. Never a flaw in his work. He uses Lumar tint.

Any estimate on cost to get the two side windows and rear window done? Car currently has light tint on it now that will need to be removed, but isn't in the greatest shape (scratches)

Looks like there is one at the Avenues, I'll probably just give them a call and see their pricing.

I used curbside window tinting on my 98 Z28 the guys name was Jeremy he charged me 80 bucks to do both side and rear, and he came to my house. Did a great job. I can get his number and pm it to you if you want, when I get off of work.

Remove the side window tint yourself and save yourself money. Its easy and only takes about an hour for both sides. Just need razor blades. Let them do the back. It's a PITA.

Every tint shop is different so I don't know how much the Avenues would charge or how good the tinter is.

But what kind of tint did he use? Good quality tint is more than just $80. I know he didn't do it for free. Be careful. You get what you pay for. I'd only put Lumar or 3m tint on my vehicles. The other stuff will turn purple quick and lose its color.

I agree 100% with only using quality ****, however the purple is only from people using ammonia based cleaning products (like windex) which will turn even the highest quality tint purple real quick!

The only person i've ever let do my cars is Martin with Global Tinting, however i've heard good things about Flying Window in Longwood

Not sure of the type of tint he used. but it was on the car for 3 years then sold to a member on here. And from the pics I've seen it still looks good.

At the shop I work at we use pro-tint and johnson window films. Two of the best brands of tint that you can get and actually the general public can't even order johnson window films unless you have taken their tint class and have their tint license which is about $3500 and all of their tints have a lifetime warranty all the down to 0%.

We use suntek at are shop its a life time warranty film as well. And very nice stuff. Make sure they do that back window in one piece. Its a bit of a PITA but it looks much beter over all. As for price you should be looking around 160-180 to strip and retint it. All your cost is from the back window. Its a fight to shrink it.

777, I also replied back to the PM you sent me about a quote and everything else. The price of $160-$180 that 4door5g posted up is a heck of a deal to strip old tint and retint a 4th gen. At my shop we charge just as much to strip and prep the window for new. So if it was $150 to tint it and your car already had tint that needed to be taken off you'd be looking at $300. Id jump on that $160-$180 deal if I were you bro.

Thanks, FYI I started to peel the tint off where it's already peeling a bit. I peeled about another inch (corner of window above door handle) It's just peeling right off without any effort, it's like a sticker. It's not leaving any residue whatsoever behind either. Could this have been installed incorrectly? Looks like the clear part of the tint is on the inside of the car and the dark part is up against the window.

I had 5% on my other car for 2+ years (was already on there when I bought it) Didn't have one but of purple tint to it. Not sure what time frame you are talking about. I just want it dark enough so you can't see in.

Rollin Sound near me quoted $250 for strip and re tint. I'm waiting on response to see how much the price will change if I strip the side windows at least.

Matt,

Not hijacking. I need to pull the tint off the back window of my trans am. I did the side with a razor blade but the back I can't because of the defroster lines. PM me your method please.
