Had a ZR1 come in yesterday....
A friend of ours brings his ZR1 by which is killer, so I ask for a ride (of course).
After a few WOT pulls around town, smoke starts to fill the cabin. We immediately pull over to the side of the road and find that a trans cooler line has popped apart and is spewing ATF all over the headers (thank god it didn't catch fire).
So we take it back to the shop very carefully, throw her up on the 4 post and notice that the previous shop to work on the car did not do a very good job securing the lines and those small "jesus" clips that GM thinks is adequate enough to keep a line attached under extreme pressure.
So, like the professionals that we are, we replaced the clips and safety wired them in place. We also refilled his trans which had about .5 of a quart left in it! That stuff was everywhere!
Anyway, just a cool story I thought I would share. Not something that happens everyday you know?

Yeah man, he was actually really cool about it. He knew he was in good hands. We're trying to convince him to do some more work and let Lashway work some magic.
Yeah, I thought I was going to tell a different story, but this worked out. I once saw a truck at another shop that burned to a crisp for the same reason...ATF his exhaust and burst into flames....
thanks
Yes, I believe so. The whole car is orgasmic...at this one was modded so I really **** myself when he hit it...stupid fast comes to mind.
I want one

I see the 2009 ZR1s starting to drop in the mid to upper $70's now. In 2-3 more years, Ill have to grab one.
I should just sell my car now, put the money in bank of america stock, and in two years, Ill pay cash.

i work on these corvettes all the time .and the lack of proper installation.and not pulling on those lines to make sure they are connected.can cause a big mess.as u seen.some people just need to pay attension to there job.like they guys at lashway and myself....must have been done recently because those lines come apart quickley after you through some line pressure to them if they are not properly sucured.good jobs guys .keep up good work .

Owner wasn't too pissed about it.. "Yeah that stuff happens with all this horsepower" haha.
That's one beef I have with that car, they went from a screw-type flare connection on the C5, to the "Jesus clips" pieces of junk.
It really sucks watching the love of your life drive away
