Default Sold the SS and bought a Lightning

so this week i sold my black 01' ss, it was a pain to see her go but i needed a truck and a better DD with less miles. plus i already have my 79 vette and wife says i can only have one toy lol. so i bought a lightning so i can have a truck dd but also still keep a decently quick ride. heres a link to my new truck i bought tell me what yall think.

i had one before, loved it, want to get anther one

not that good on gas tho, imo i would get rid of the huge rims, other then looks they suck for DD use, i had 20s and i hated them

NO!!! WOT with overdrive on, the rods are to weak, yours is an 04 so you should have the 8 thread heads from the factory

i dont see a catch can, you many want to pull the blower and check/clean the intercooler and then put a catch can on, these trucks pull alot of oil thru the PVC and into the blower and then onto of the intercooler

yea i was able to see the camaro about a day or so after it went up for sale. im not a fan of the 22's either but they will be on there for awhile until i find new ones. buddy of mine suggested the cobra rims. and yea i didnt waste any time i was talking about maybe selling the camaro and getting a lightning sat night and by tuesday afternoon i had sold the camaro and gotten a loan for this truck. ill look into the stuff you mentioned i dont plan on beating on it or modding it out that much.

i dont know if it had the CC recall done, but either way you should unplug the plug thats on the brake booster, its very easy, its right near where you poor in the brake fluid, just unplug it

trucks have been set on the fire even with the recall done, i just unplugged mine and done

Nice Lighting, don't think I could trade my LS1 in for one though. I'd rather have both.

well the ss had 137k miles on it and needed some cosmetic stuff, new paintjob being the most expensive and it was at the point where i could either sell it and get just enough to pay off my loan or keep it until the loan was paid and not get my moneys worth when i sold it. and lol i thought about the trading in the wife thing but honestly she wasnt really making me do it it was more of a suggestion from her and my choice in the end. she saw the sadness in my face as we were driving down to meet the guy who wanted it and she asked if i wanted to just forget about it and keep it. also i know im gonna get **** for this but she said shed be ok with me selling the camaro and getting a 03-04 cobra or a lightning. now yes i know just about all of you would pick the cobra but i knew id never put money into my vette if i got the cobra and id get even more speeding tickets than i already have. and honestly my vette isnt far off from kicking a cobras ***. plus i needed a truck.

set the truck up right and it will hang toe to toe with a cobra, iv seen alot of lightnings take out cobras at the track lol

i dont know that you are planning to use the truck for but with that drop your are limited when it comes to towing something, other wise just swap to a 18inch rim and everything else is covered, just cant tow alot bc of the drop

Sometimes you have to make decisions that are practical and realistic. I think you did good with getting the lightning. I dont think you could get a 03/04 cobra and not mod ir. I know i damn sure couldnt. Completely impossible. My wife doesnt even have to tell me im limited to one toy at a time i know i am. Dont have enough funds to cover two toys. For the younger guys wives and children can definitely change your perspective and your priorities. Congrats on the lightning.

hey im not stuck in on one side of the whole chevy-ford rivalry. anyone sensible can admit that ford has some nice vehicles and that they did right when they made the cobra. plus last i checked fords new mustang line is leaving the new camaro behind in the dust.
