Another Fbody checking in. Just moved to the area. Still haven't found any meets. I have heard about one at sonics? And them people going to the track on Wednesday nights.

 

If the rain holds out I might be going to the track Wednesday myself-- need to try out the tranny and suspension changes.

it was a bust, too humid, the dew point hit and everything just stayed wet. I met a few other Camaros out there and they said they were over half a second off from their regular times. I don't think I'll ever go again at night, a hot track is going to be better than a cool wet one. I need to work on traction issues anyhow. need wheels and tires for the track, new axles and trailing arms to stop the wheel hop. didn't know 5th gens can wheel hop so violently....

 

Hey Ken here. I'm in Ft. Myers too. Just signed up on forum. Doing LQ4 6.0 carb/turbo400 in a 81 G body Malibu. Can't wait to get it up and running. Some FYI--- Every Mon night at Merchants crossing(corner of Pine Island and 41) there's a cruise in at Applbees from 6-8pm. Also some street racers gather every Sat night on Gladiolous by Sonic(at Summerlin) starting at 10pm for some FUN(if you know what I mean). Hope to see some of you soon.

Damn was starting to think I was the only one in Lehigh. I'm off of Milwaukee and Alabama. My car is torn to pieces right now also. For a swap and wire tuck what's going on with yours if you don't mind me asking.

 

Trying to get it ready for oct, there's a race in bradention, FL2K. It will have a stock bottem end, 243 heads with some work, ticks polluter stage 3 cam, all good internals, fast 92/92, 200 shot, yank ss3600 stall with an rpm built tranny, 3.73 gears and some goodies in the rear end to help the 10 bolt last till I can get a ford nine inch. Car is gutted right now that's why it's in pieces, no ac, no washer pump or Rez, no air bags. battery in trunk. All bmr suspension. Rci seats

Way it sits now the whole interior is gutted, waiting to find some one to weld up my chromoly 6 point cage. Motor is all torn down also.

 

We went to FL2K last year was a little underwhelmed sure it would have been a little different if I could have participated. I'm going lm7 have tick custom grind and btr springs full arp hardware. New rings and bearings gaps accordingly. Plan to go s475 and 4l80e with 3600 stall.Then save for the cage and rear end together. Mine is a slow moving project with slow season here. I'll pm you some info for a good friend of mine who owns a shop. I helped him build a 88mm front mount 3 valve Mustang we are about to install a cage and chute mount on it. It's a fairly new shop still building a customer base so I'm sure he will cut you a decent price.

 

We are a nice group in the area. We usually meet with guys anywhere from Cape Coral down to Naples. We have all kinds of cars at the gtg.
