the whole Anon crew and that bs they did a few years back claiming the cartel "kidnapped" their member and if they didnt return them then they were going to release the names of all the dirty cops that deal with the cartels. nothing came of it.
on the other hand i saw one 4chan post where the guy mentioned a girl he liked only first name, what state she lived in and one of her friends first names and he was asking for them to find her because they had an internet connection and /b/ found the chick and gave the guy her phone number in an hour.
