Car theft concerns So as we just about all know, CrimsonBirds WS6 was stolen and stripped last week in California. If you havent see the details here is a link.

Anyways if you read the thread there seems to be a rash of ls1 vehicles being stolen in that area and other areas around the country. What about here in Florida; Orlando, Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville or Panhandle areas. Does anyone have any recent stories of cars being stolen?

I live in Miami and it's ricer central here. Very few f-bodies to even steal in the first place. Hondas get stolen like crazy though. The little "slammed" and "stanced" cars are what people like to steal here. Both the enthusiasts and the car jackers are pretty much all ricers here. I don't know about other areas.

Figured I'd go ahead and mention here, my car wasn't stolen but was broken into at the Edge apartment complex by UCF in Orlando. I got lucky there was nothing valuable missing and no damage, but in talking to the office and residents, I found out car thefts and burglaries are extremely common in that complex. One girl said last year someone even came around with a baseball bat and smashed in a lot of tail lights on cars. Be careful in that complex. The office didn't give two ***** about it when I talked to them and admitted they only have a guard patrolling 1/2 of the complex.
One of the regular posters on grabalane and I believe he may be on here had his Fbody stolen in Tampa earlier this year. It was recovered though but had damage and was partially painted.
Be on the Look out. 18 Mitsubishi evo's have been stolen in 3 months in central florida. Highest thief rate in FL right now. Took one from a friend and it is gone and the Tracking did no good because it was disabled in 48 minutes. Just be careful. there are pros out there and they are still jacking cars.
