Dropping an LS3 into a 1930 Model A with a custom chassis. We’re using the 525hp ASA cam equipped crate motor fron GM. We’re gonna run an electric water pump, AC, and no power steering since we are using electric steering. Where do I need to go for a accessory drive belt?

Belts are just length and rib count, there’s nothing special about them. Once you get your accessories all bolted up, measure your length in mm and your rib count and go buy one.

Why am I in a Cape Coral/Ft Myers thread? I lived there briefly. My mother still does.

thanks. I started it wanting to have some locals to talk to about my project. Eventually I might need some extra physical hands to help me with some heavy lifting.

ICT BIllet if you don't have any accessories with your motor.

I am interested to see how this turns out.

Step 1....remove ASA cam. Old POS. So many better options out there for a street car.

elaborate. I was reading the opposite on this forum. It was appealing because it came installed with the updated valvetrain and a 24mo 50k mile warranty.

Its old tech that typically doesnt drive as nice as a well specd cam. It's easy on valves for sure cause it's lazy. If your warranty is a must then sure but you'd likely make more power with better drivability with a different cam.

it’s not necessarily a must just a perk. Any recommendations for a good NA cam? I know Texas speed is big name I have seen around over the years, but I’m sure there’s better lesser known companies hiding in the shadows.

I am a Cam Motion fan. They've really taken over replacing Comp after the whole squealing cam quality issue that Comp had. Plus they actually take the time to talk to you and explain stuff. I would check out their website. I just put a Titan 2 cam in my LS6 and LOVE it, but you could go bigger on your motor.

Give Steve a call, tell him exactly the intended goal for the motor.
