OK is there anyone in florida that would want to share the cost with me on a purchase of HP tuners. I live in Port St. Lucie and know Bruce who owns McDonald motorsports(dyno) and he would hook us up on the tuning. If your are interested I will purchase Hp Tuners for my car 2000 trans am and your car ....
Shoot me an email Musicmaker1586@aol.com or pm
I have been going back and forth between having someone tune my car and doing it myself.
I found my answer yesterday!
I want to buy hp tuners and do it myself to avoid any more trouble

If you're going to split the cost with someone, realize you only receive one cable - so it'd work out better for both of you if you were local to one another.
Or, if you want someone to use their software/cable on your vehicle, then a) find someone with the same model year F-body as yourself w/ HPTuners, or b) work out a deal with anyone who has HPTuners for them to add your model year to their setup. It's $199/model per model year up to a total of 4 years, then $399 afterwards.
If you were closer, I'd help also.

FYI the cables can be had for 15.00 online. You will then need an ELM chip to convert the signal... I would insert a link but im not sure if thats deemed ok here. Do a search for odbii cables and you'll be set.

Yeah thats no prob but what are you talking about chevE? Everything that you need comes with the package that you buy from hp tuners! what cables are you talking about?
ChevE, yes this would work for a normal application with your own software but HP Tuners uses an encrypted ALDL so that the software will only work with it. There is no getting around it. Well, there are ways but they are too difficult to consider.
You and 2000WS6 could do it, I think you live about an hour and a half away from each other. You could always ship the cables back and forth. For instance, you do your tune, get it where you want it, then you ship it to the other guy and he can do his thing. Then if you feel you need it back right away, let him know and he will ship it back to you when he is done...
Just a suggestion
