Default Vacationing in Miami, suggestions...

Hey everyone, I'm going to be vacationing down in Miami Aug 20-27, and just wanted to know what are the good clubs/bars to go to? Also, any other night life spots that I should check out. Probably gonna be spending most of the day at the beach obviously, but anything else to do during the daytime as well?

Also, I'm going to be checking out housing down there (thinking about moving down there) so what are the best towns/cities outside of Miami in terms of housing, low crime, etc? I wouldn't mind living somewhere close to Miami/Ft Lauderdale and Boca Raton, as in all are in driving distance of each other. Any suggestions?

take spanish lessons. My parrents are moving down to Hialeiah(sp) area and it is mucho expensive. Once you are Ft Lauderdale south things start going through the roof. 900-1200 sq ft will be deep into the 200k from what my father told me. These also have carports no garage.

I just moved out of Miami a year ago. Definitely bring some cash with you, especially if you're going to be going to south beach. If you don't want to sped quite as much cash, you can always go to coconut grove. Its less of a club scene, more of a bar-hopping kind of area, but there are UM girls everywhere . Up in Ft Lauderdale, the strip is nice (on the beach), and riverfront (also more of a bar-hopping area, but there's a few clubs). If you're into clubs though, south beach is the place. To get into the clubs it helps if you go with a girl, some of them are picky like that. Have fun!

Pawn Shop and Space are on the mainland.
There are tons more clubs on Sobe.
For casual strolling/people watching go to Lincoln Rd on South Beach.

Beaches: Breasts- SOBE, Relax- Key Biscayne Cape Florida Lighthouse.

Shopping: Sawgrass Mills for great deals

Key West style restaurants/ ambiance: Coconut Grove.

As for Hialeah, I grew up there and it's basically the armpit of Miami (most my family still lives there).

I will have rental, so driving isn't a problem, but how far are all these places from each other? Like I said, I will be checking out housing in the cities local to Miami, so iwouldn't mind passing by these places on my travels.

Downtown/South Beach/Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne are all within 10 minutes of each other.

Sawgrass Outlet Mall is a 45 minute drive to West Broward County.

Housing is damn expensive here. My pad cost a pretty penny (I live down the street from A-Rod). It's a tiny house near the bay in Coconut Grove.
You'll have to head out West to find anything under 350K with a decent sized lot.

There are women anywhere you go in the city, whether it is to the downtown scene or the beach you will save yourself a bit of spending cash if you stay away from the beach. Now if you are looking for a place to live either go west or go to fort lauderdale, prices in miami are fast going thru the roof, i live in aventura and i know that 1 bed 1 bath are selling in the 3's and that is for an older place not even new.

Ok thanks everyone for the responses.

In terms of housing, I was actually thinking of the West Palm Beach area, but that's pretty far form Miami and Ft. Lauderdale right? Or would it be possible to find a good community that's a half hour away or so from there? Everyone is saying that houses are going for $300K, online I've seen what looked like nice houses around $150k in the WPB area? Or am I wrong?

Probably wrong, unless the house is over 30 yrs old. Good luck finding anything over 1200 sq ft, maybe a 1 car garage for under $200k+.
